Ok folks, my first ever poll, i dont know if its been done before, but here it goes..


What was the First Freestyle song that you heard that hooked you into the music?



Mine~Judy Torres-No reason to cry, 10th grade, lafayette high school, brooklyn NY....Listening to B91 on my walkman during school, from there i was hooked.

Anyone have any similar stories?

I have to answer this thread!!!! What got me into Freestyle was when I was listening to the radio...Then BAM!!! TKA's Louder Than Love was on. I fell in love with them after that, then I searched for them in my dads CD collection, and after a day or 2, I knew ALL there songs!!😀

I remember being a sophomore in high school and listening to the radio late at night...1995...all of a sudden...I hear the DJ announce a new song that has just been released...little did I know at the time that this would be the beginning of my love for freestyle...yes its true...all of u can assume that I am somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to the genre of freestyle...nonetheless, as I heard LAW begin their unprecedented intro as only they can do...I was hooked..."Remember the Times"...I don't know...it was as if I was under a spell...there was a certain type of *MAGIC* that caught my ear that was inexplicable...However, this night would forever remain etched in my mind and heart for as I look back now I realize what I found...its funny though and a bit ironic...I am actually playing out what that song expressed...I am remembering the times!

"Can You Feel The Beat" and "I Wonder If I Take You Home" by Lisa Lisa...I was like 5...I bought the 12" because I had heard them on Hot 103....Another song that really got me into it was "Inside Outside" by the Cover Girls....Ive been hooked for 15 of the 20 years of my life
 
Two songs did it for me.

After I heard "Point Of No Return" by Expose` (original Line up) and "Hooked On You" by Sweet Sensation (original line up) I was hooked.

those are just a few that really got me hooked to freestyle.
 
Alot Of The Songs Around 87 Did It For Me.
It Had Alot To Do With The Little Keyboard Sounds In Songs Like " Materialistic Girl " And " Scars Of Love " And So Forth.
If You Pay Attention To Why U Like A Song...It Usually Ends Up Being Because Of That Little Sound That U Have 2 Really Pay Attention To,to hear It. But For Some Reason U Hear It Without Payin Attention.....Confusing I Know,But Hopefully Some Of Yous Get What Im Sayin......lmao
