yeah kenny and keh...it was just referred to as dance at first..i dont think it really didnt start being called freestyle until around late 88 or early 89 (wow im so giving my age away)i also remeber it being referred to as underground...i just called it" my shit" still do today

Before it was called Freestyle we only knew it as "club music" When I saw the Freestyle label attached to the music. I was like, ok. remember 1018, octogon, bora bora, emerald city, palladium, lamour east.

Damn - I missed out on so much! Well, I didn't turn "legal" until 1989 anyway - wish I'd realized the stuff I was missing with the NYC nitelife!

HMMM. good one.

I would have to say The NasTBoys. The song was “Intimate Strangers”. Perhaps it was because I had worked with them closely on a couple of projects. But that’s what did it for me. Although “Spring Love” was my all time favorite.

mine were a few it started out with probably...Expose's-Point of No Return, Cover Girls-Because of You, Cynthia's-Change On Me, Newcleus-Jam On It, George Lamond's-Bad of the Heart, Dzyre's-Forever Amor, Cynthia & Johnny O's_Dreamboy/Dreamgirl, April's-Your the one for Me, the one that got me totally hooked would probably be In Paradise by Laissez Faire. the rollerinks ruled! Then those Tim Spinnin Schommer mixes here in chicago. yeah buddy

there were too many to name that i heard on the radio back when i was younger. im really familiar with that whole period from '90-'93 when that whole new school boom was happening. then the freestyle stopped and the new jack r&b (mary j. blige, tlc, jodeci) was the new "dance" music (when i say dance i just mean what was popular at parties and dances).

it wasnt til '99 that i was in a record store with my sister and i saw Cynthia's "thinking about you" cd. i was like "hey, i remember this girl!" LOL! i bought it because i saw "if i had the chance" was on there and i remember hearing it on the radio andluvin the song and the beat but i had no idea who it was by. on top of that i was also familiar with her already so i bought it and the whole cd was just bangin! from there, i ended up getting George Lamond's hits cd, Rockell's old cd and thats what made me start listening to freestyle again. everytime i see an old freestyle artist cd at my sisters house im like "hey, lemme have this!"
