Heyy!!!!
uuuGH Mr.Phatbreakz....
Unless you go by two names in this forum....I dont believe my reply was aimed at you, instead to the individual who started this thread. As a matter a fact I dont even recall reading any of your replies to this thread, but hey, since we're already on the topic let me just quote you on something myself.

"Personally,I have nothing to gain by saying that Shannon or Taylor Dayne's early music id Freestyle.I know freestyle when I hear it and that what their music was even though we didn't have a name for it yet".
As far as the Shannon factor is concern...I must say that this is in fact open for debate since Shannon did in fact reach the platinum status with her "Let the music play" Album and was even nominated for a grammy at the time But lets not forget, this thread is questioning the legality of the hightest freestyle charting single not Album. Never the less Shannon was a force to be Reckoned with and her hits are still hot till this day!!!
About Franc Reyes....well lets just say that he was simply depicting the reality of the getto and his own upbringing just as it was for many of us. Would you rather that he sugar coat it for fear of being stereo typed? If anything...At least this time, this point of view is coming from the eyes of a true latino himself and not from some fat Anglo Exec that just wants to spoon feed us what we know is not real! Would you say or feel the same about Spike Lee ? Is he stereo typing his own people through his movies? I truely dont believe that the Hip Hop Community would have appreciated it if he did it any other way !! Keeping it Real!!
But hey we're all entitled to our own opinions 🙂
Peace......Midistar
