NO COMMENT...I already told Johnny I would remain silent until I have heard the entire new album...

When does ZYX plan to release it in the US?

And NO - I will not be buying "DIANA" b/w "FANTASY GIRL 2002"

to ClubGirl and Peter:

Hello guys I just wanted to post my comments on what the both of you posted. First of all Peter, thank you for understanding what I am saying. Second, Clubgirl I understand what you are saying also but like I said in my previous post the only way Freestyle is going to have any real chance of survival is if the artists who do it come out with quality material that is going to surprise and astound freestyle and Non-freestyle fans. What I noticed on Clubfreestyle is that a lot of you are "Stuck" back in the days of old school freestyle thus you don't want to accept anything different, it's either sound like you did back in the days or don't bother and that's not fair because no one can expect a artist to do the same thing over and over. They need to grow and evolve with their music. I'm not saying that I don't love the old school freestyle, I actually believe it is untouchable that is why I believe that any artists old school or new school alike should not look toward the classic freestyle as a solution to making it once again mainstream. Try and think about what sounds you can blend with the "Freestyle" sound to come up with something hott and different. I mean for example do we want TKA to come out with a song that sounds just like "You're the one" or Cynthia to come out with another "Change on Me" of course not because these artists need to expand and change, not necessarily for the worse but hopefully for the better. I also agree with what peter said about Johnny O. not having say in what was going to be released, I mean as an artists is it really worth to you to let a label desimate your career. I mean obviously Zyxx doesn't have a clue as to what they are doing, I mean if you want to bring attention to the artist don't look for catchy gimmicks just make a GREAT song that people will enjoy and love. If that is the way they intend to promote Johnny's music then i feel bad for him because it shows they have no faith in him as a REAL artist if they do not want to re-introduce him with a fresh new song. Ok thanks for listening guys.

@ Clubgirl,

You said...Johnny didnt have control of what single was going to be released....??? That means, that Zyx said...we make a new Version of Fantasy Girl........and thats it ????
So when he had no control he is only like a ball in a game...of the Recording Company.
They dont care then about their artist, just put money in their bags.
And like FreestylerinNY said, that he have to come back with only new Material and not the old overplayed stuff......thats right then...looking forward not back in time.

PETER, "RARELY" does a "remix" by an the original artist make it big. Johnny wanted to remake it for us....."THE FANS". whats wrong with that? you have a dozen songs to choose from on the album to enjoy, why must you complain about a remix of "FANTASY GIRL"? Ive heard remixes by artists like MICHEAL JACKSON, MADONNA & LL COOL J. The remix is an old favorite and is put on a current album to revive it a bit and also a gift to the fans. I'm sure you know this, dont you, PETE? Whats wrong with that? I see JOHNNY O following success. PLEASE THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. I just gave you some perfect examples.

REMEMBER, ITS ONLY A "B" SIDE, SO DONT GET SO UPSET. RARELY DO "B" SIDES CAUSE SO MUCH HARSH EMOTIONS. WHY DOES IT UPSET YOU?😕

Guys

Im sorry if we have 2 diffrent points of view I guess its because I have herd most of the album in its intirety. I have herd the great songs that ZYX couldnt choose from. And honestly I wouldnt be able to choose either and everyone whos listen to the songs have a diffrent favorite. I love friday night, call me on the phone, and Im so in love (Johnny's jet plane). others like Diana or Jelousy. its alot to choose from. I am glad you know the songs out there. But another thing is Diana isnt know in the Europe market. Peter I do agree with your point believe it or not. Come out with new material so we can progress freestyle into the next level. Give it a chance look at the market in Europe in a week or two, look at how the single is doing on billboard. Annd maybe there will be a hit but if not there are plenty of songs that I am sure will be released and become favs of this album..

well, "DIANA" wasnt that well known either in the U.S., only to the DIE-HARD FREESTYLE FANS. "Normal" freestyle fans never heard the song "DIANA" at all!

Well to me it goes beyond Johnny O. covering his own song. It goes much deeper than that. I mean yeah it's only a B-side, which is a good point and yeah Diana wasn't really known nationwide but that isn't the point. The true fact of the matter is that Freestyle is never going to move on to the next step if artists don't put out material that is going to make people sit back and take notice. Clubgirl, I don't believe that putting out a remake of someone elses song is the best way to bring a artist back into the scene, I'm sorry if you think i'm wrong but I just don't see it as the best possible way of bringing someone back into freestyle. I also think that Zyx not knowing what to put out because it was too "Hard" to pick from so many great songs is just "bull", no offense, because when you have really good songs on an album then you know that is the way to go with introducing the artist again. Also as a Freestyle Fan I don't see a new version of "Fantasy Girl" making any real impact on me, not because I don't love Johnny O. but because like I said previously it's a classic and should be left alone. It only takes away from the songs uniqueness. I would hope that Johnny O. and his label release some "New" and "Hot" freestyle jams so that they can one day become "Future" classics. Ok guys thanx again for letting me get my point across.
:hearton 😉 🙄

@ KennyGuido,

do you mean that Johnny said to Zyx he wants to make a another Remix of the Fantasy Girl song ???
Back in time Zyx released other Remixes of Fantasy Girl and did Johnny told them to do it also ??
Yeah, you are absolutely right about the "B-sides" and i think ,that there are many other good songs on the CD.....

@ Clubgirl and Kenny,

you are not right, in my Area the Southern Part of Germany Diana was well known and played in Clubs, too. I knew a lot of people arround me who owns the 12 of the Song. It might be more known here in Germany (Europe) as in the states.
And many of the other releases from Metropolitan were known over here, too......back in the days there was a store in my City who gets a lot of stuff (releases) from the US. I think i have mainly all the releases from them.

Greetings
Peter😉

"Diana" by Collage

Sorry to inform you that you are sadly mistaken about Collage's version of "Diana" not being well known.

When Collage's second single "Gangster Of Love" went nowhere fast in Top 40 Radio land, Metropolitan rushed to press the third single - "Diana".

Since "I'll Be Loving You" was still being played as a recurrent hit on some radio stations around the country, and still others were just discovering it, Metropolitan sent a two-song CD5 out to radio-"Diana" backed with new (Techno and Spanish) mixes of "I'll Be Loving You".

Some stations at this time were already playing "Diana" right off of the Chapter 1 album. But Marano new that certain radio markets would not play the hardcore Freestyle version, so he made new funky radio versions for the CD5.

Soon after, some stations in the Mid West and South were playing Collage's "Diana". Yes.

Jason@atomic, im afraid im right on this one. i bet i can put down 100 names of "regular" freestyle fans that do not know the song. i know im right on that one. honestly, i only heard the song once, and thats the only time "i" wanted to hear it. so, i guess you can put me in the catagory as a "regular" freestyle fan, right?

BTW, my wifey, DIANE never heard the song "DIANA" either, and she is a big "freestyle" fan also. sorry to say, it wasnt played on NEW YORK radio in 95, therefore it wasnt well known as "ill be loving you". do you know how many times i saw the single and passed on it back in 95? i heard it once and didn't pick it up, although i was starving for freestyle, i left that one alone. no offense, adam!

PETER, honestly, i dont know "ANYONE" that even buys 12" anymore!!

Are you referring to "BIG FREESTYLE FANS" or the basic fans that own the 12"?

Kenny,

personally i would buy all the stuff what i like or what comes out on 12.....

I refer the "Big" and the "Basic" Freestyle Fans over here....i think it is 50 : 50

And i also wrote before, that i have maily all the stuff from Metropolitan on 12 and i knew alot people over here who have almost everything, too. I think back in the days when the store where i get all my Records were still in business.....Thru the owner i get a lot of stuff....he had good connections to Mic Mac, Warlock(High Power) Vision Records and he gets some rare shots, too.
😉

I just spoke to someone from Germany and he infact told me that "DIANA" really didnt make any big waves, outside the "fan" realm. Sure, it got some play in clubs, but radio didnt care for much for it in Germany. Over here, the ratio of "DIE-HARD" fans to "BASIC" is roughly 1000 to 1. It didn't even make it to the clubs in NEW YORK.

@ Kenny,

I wrote before, that i speak for the Southern Part of Germany, where Freestyle was and still is big....Free System for example comes from Augsburg and is about 40 Miles away from the city where i live....
In other parts of Germany they listen mainly to Rap Hip-Hop and Techno, Trance is big, too.
I dont know who is the one with whom you talked about but he is wrong......
Have a nice weekend
Peter

Well I know the song. It's been on a number of cds over and over. In fact when I heard JO's version, I kept expecting to hear Anthony Monteleone sing it. LOL!

The point is that both the Diana track written by Marano and now with JO's vocals is done along with Fantasy Girl and a video message from Johnny O. At least ZYX is keeping it in the family and hoping to make some money for all of them 🙂

Bring on June as I'm looking forward to hearing the new tracks! Let's go JO.

Hey wassup guys I just wanted to ask you guys a question about a cd i just bought. I got Tony Monaco's Freestyle Heaven vol. 2 and track 3 on the cd is called "Can You Show Me" and it says it's by Collage but it's a girl singing it. Does anyone know who sings the song, I would greatly appreciate it if someone can let me know.
