Personally I really don't give a sh*t if anyone here hates me for saying this but I have met Mickey more than once, spoken to him on several occasions and support his music and all his efforts to revive Freestyle and YES I consider him one of the TRUE Pioneers of Freestyle regardless of what others may say simply because they hate him. At the same time I have met Sal Abbatielo and consider him to be a major player in Freestyle as well, not to mention a "paesano" and he even got me backstage at EXIT for a major event last February. People should keep in mind that the 4th of July,Labor day, New Years and the rest of the holidays are all big days as far as clubs and events are concerned. Instead of jumping to conclusions isn't it possible that it is also coincidence? As far as where I'll be it all depends on where most of my buddies go cause I'm here for the music not the political bullshit. And by the way NYC is pushing more than 8 million. :blah to all who oppose

Well, unfortunately I will not be able to attend either show, but will be @ the WILD PALM in Spirit with all of you who attend that show. I wish all the artists much success at both shows, but definitely agree with EL_BORICUA_72 that they should try to work out a schedule for both shows to be @ different times that night so that many of the fans, especially the ones who are torn between both shows would have a chance to see both shows and not have to worry about choosing one over the other. It's ashame that both shows ended up being scheduled on the same night, but like Nyasia said, "This shit happens all the time, and will continue to happen". I just hope that ALL have a great time no matter which show you attend, and enjoy the Great Music the artists will be performing for you that evening, and enjoy meeting new friends and the company of those new and old friends for that matter. I hope to have the chance some time to meet all of you I've chatted with on here at one of these big shows whether it be in the NY/NJ area or CT/MA area.......where ever, when ever.....it sounds like a blast, and I truly hope I get to experience it some time. For the time being CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG...like one big happy FREESTYLE FAMILY???!!! Good luck and God Bless to all.

so true BUT back then, each of the 6 shows had one or maybe even 2 artist/groups per show. this time around, there are 2 shows with multiple singers/acts.

Mickey does get credit BUT not for being a "pioneer" of freestyle. A pioneer is someone who starts a trend or embarks on a journey. FREESTYLE was already alive & kicking by the time Mickey got involved in the game. So, a pioneer he is not. Pioneers are Sal A, THE LATIN RASCALS, Little louie Vega and so fourth. IMO, I say Mickey kept FREESTYLE alive and they releases some of the most memorible songs to date. That I give him credit for.
