I first met Suzy at her 5th Birthday Party at the legendary Studio 54. I became good friends with her father and came to see her perform that night. I had already been pusuing the music business a few years and I really wanted to see what this little girl was all about. I'm am not too sure what she performed but they were all of the current hits of the day. Modonna, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston etc. I absolutly couldn't believe, not only in what I was hearing, but more so in what I was seeing. This girl capture the entire crowd. Her stage presence was unbelivable. I remember hearing her sing "Love Don't Live Hear Anymore" by Modonna and seeing people in the audience brought to tears. At the end of the show, her Birthday cake was brought out on to the stage by "The Village People" and the entire Studio 54 crowd sung Happy Birthday. That is just one of the "Magical" moments I personally have experienced working with Suzy for the past 18 years. Thats right I have been with her 18 years. At that age Suzy was performing every weekend without a record. The Limelight, The Paladium, The Red Parrot, The Copa, Crystal City, Roland, The Fun House. You name the club that was happening in Ny in the 80's and she was there. I remember the Limo's, in-club catering and the $600.00 she got for her show. This went on for the next three years until she was signed to Fever records at 8. She released her first single called "Randy" which was produced by Tony Moran and Andy Panda. It was a bubble Gum record and very hard to sell. Fever decided to let her go and that is when she signed to HighPower at 11 years old. At 12 Take Me In Your Arms became a hit and that is when everything started to take off. 3 to 4 shows a week at top price throughout the country as well as Mexico and Canada. Airplanes and Hotels became her playground. Ask her today does she remember when she "Didn't" sing and she will tell you No! Suzy released 2 albums on Highpower. At the age of 16 she started her own label called Empress and was distributed by Metropolitan. She release 2 more albums and her Lil' Suzy MegaMix on Metropolitan. She just released a Greatest Hits album on BMG (major label) and is currently in negotiations with another major. She release 3 videos 2 with HighPower and one with Metro. 6 albums and she is only 22 years old. Regardless of how good or bad she sounds or looks, she has always been there for the Freestyle community. Sacrificing her dignity and livelyhood to support the music she loves so much "Freestyle!" She's Freestyle's Baby sister and we have to protect her and encourage her to keep going, because it's rough, I know!
