POST BACK HERE - SAY WHAT YOU THINK!

Im Still Listening To This As I Type...
Nice Job ClubGirl...

TONY - As If We Didn't Know She Was In TKA * Knodding Head*....I got The Pic Too 😉

But A Good Point Was Made.
So Much B.S. Politics Are Involved In This Corrupt Industry...But As They Say " Money Talks Bullshit Walks "...
And....Tony...Freestyle Is HipHop Bro? I Can See What Ur Saying...But Freestyle Didn't Come From Hip Hop Man...
I Personally Think It Derived On Its Own...More Or Less From Disco...
Around 81-84 They Had Breakbeat/Breakdance Music And Everyone Was Messing Around...They freestyle Happend. It Was An Accident That Came 2 Be A Style...
Im Speaking From Multiple Views...

Im Gonna Finish Listening To This Now.....
Peace...
And TKA U Keep Doing What Ur Doing....Just don't Forget Where Yous Came From * Running Upto His Roof And Pointing In The Direction Of 149th And Southern Blvd * ;p

I LIKED THE INTERVIEW AND THE FACT THAT GOOD QUESTIONS WERE ASKED.....THANKS CLUBGIRL THAT WAS GREAT.🙂

Elear, IN NO WAY DIDFREESTYLE EVOLVE FROM DISCO. NO WAY. DISCO IS A DEAD ERA. THATS IT. IF YOU CAN SEE THE HIP HOP ELEMENT IN FREESTYLE, THEN CHECK YOUR HEAD!

Im listening!!! They sound HOT..lol...And I like the things they said, and the questions you asked. Your very lucky to have interviewed them, and actually have a conversation with them!!! they are amazing guysssssss!!

Can I interrupt here!

aaah guys...HELLO!

I THINK both of you are right , in the extent that Freestyle derives from quite a few genres including Disco if thats what you wanna call it but its more like Electro- funk, early hip hop, latin rythms. One thing for sure it took from Disco......those pretty melodies!!! 🙂

Great interview!! Very informative.

"Free of style"... I love that! 😉

U Listen 2 Me Kenny....U Have A Bad Problem Of Thinking You Know it All...

You Wanna Tell Me On History of Music?
Disco Came Out As A Fad. For 2 Years It Was Big....Disco Was DANCE MUSIC....The Things That Followed And What Came Out After Was A Whole Big Fusion Of Break Dance Music Mixxed With HipHop And All Kinds Of Styles...1 Of Those Styles That Derived From It All Was Freestyle.
You Ask Anyone " Who Knows What They Are Talking About " Don't Try And Tell Me " I Need To Check My Head "

NO, ELEAR, I dont have a problem when it comes to knowing it all. but i know freestyle didnt come from disco. nothing evolved from disco. no one wanted to touch it after it died because it got such a bad name.

From a Spanish Harlem Perspective..

Being at the block parties and opening from TKA when I was 11 years old, I know for a fact that it came from hip hop...That's what it is to this day..You're trying to complicate what it is. The reason that it got wack was because of the change in mentality. The rethinking (as you do) of where it came from. The reason why it's dope when we do it is because we have maintained the original mentality. So like Kenny said, check yo head because that's where the errosion of this error began. Keep it where it came from baby. The streets..In the 1986 street era, we were nowhere near disco. It was all about hip-hop, and freestyle came spinning off that, not disco, son.

Hard aggresive beats bangin out about 125bpm's then some latin flavored fusion to make it funky. That is what it was and what it should still be, with a little more tinkering in the drum patterns....That is all.

Ok...
If You Say So...
And Another Thing.....Tybless....Dont Adress Me As " Son " Im Not 1 Of Ur Homeboy's In The street. Speak Proper Or Don't Speak At All...

Hold Up....Ty, Elear, Ken

Sorry for intruding on this topic.........But the boy...LOL (just kidding Elear) is not totally wrong here!!!!!

Yes Freestyle has a strong strong! bond to hiphop because it did come from the streets at a time when hiphop was evolving but freestyle was not the first form of dance music to incorporate street elements to its structure! Before hiphop came along there was street funk, brit-funk, eletro-funk all of which came from the streets as well and yes they were also incorporated into Disco or did you guys so quickly forget where Kraftwerk got their element of style from? And what about Georgio Moroder ..Donna Summer's producer which produced a ground breaking track at the time with "I feel Love" the first long playing 12" (doesnt it sound alot like what they're doing today?) It sure wasnt from africa-bambaatta or Arthur Baker either..these guys came after. How about the pop songwriting format that freestyle uses A-B-A-B......do you think it fell from the skies? Before Disco ...there were really no other genre that used this style of songwriting format with cool melodies on dance beats. If you wanted to dance to something you either had to throw on SOME cowboy boots and Hat or learn how to slide a la James Brown/ or motown or EVEN worst yet trip on some LSD to Jimmy Page. And how can you ignore the latin influences in disco, congas..timbales, You mean to tell me you've never heard this same latin influence in Freestyle? Come On now! There were many latinos that were also involved in the disco craze. To some of us it might sound a little Korny making ANY comparison to disco but when one speaks about what influenced not only the strong beats in freestyle you also have to include where the songwriting formats came from as well, AND THIS DID NOT COME FROM HIPHOP. I dont recall Run-DMC or NWA rapping to an A-B-A-B format on their tracks! and it did not come from oh blue eyes either (jk). So yes Freestyle did borrow from the streets, BEAT WISE, but it also looked at the past WHEN IT CAME TO ADDING a complete melody with Heart Breaking hooks on a dance track..... to make it that full package we now love!

Last but not least.....in what other dance genre did they abundantly used the MINOR chords ? YUUUUPPP! You got it .....Disco!
Was it just a coincidence that they started doing the same in
Freestyle til this day? ........ Elear you hit it right on the Nose!

why should there be any shame when it comes to
music! why? Music is music!

I cant take it

Listen you guys!! I knew this was going to come up. I brought this interview as a entertaining and a little informative for you guys. And like I said in the interview I believe freestyle came from many influences. But lets stop all the critasisum we are all here for one reason and that is that we love freestyle music no matter where it came from. So please remember why you fell in love with this form of music and dont analize it just appreciate it.

WTF! Why is there always one person who gotta ruin a TKA thread! Its so freakin sad man!...😡

ClubGirl- Im mad!...lmao! all I got to say, is thank you for the interview. I appreciate it dammit!

Hey Guys:
By the Clubgirl, nice interview, you ROCK!!! TKA ROCKS!!!!

All of you guys are right. Freestyle like all fourms of modern day dance music /hip hop started in what rolling stone mag calls The Post disco era. Hip Hop was coming up in the late 70's in block parties, electro/garage was comming up in small dance clubs in the early 80's. In 1984 was the time the most popular forms of modern day dance music: house, freestyle came in to place from the pieces of electro, early hiphop and disco.

Mike
😉

But I don't understand though? 😕 Isn't this thread targeted for thanking Clubgirl and for us to show our appreciation towards her? Or was it created for Freestyle open discussion? I know it's not both! 😡

-Antonio

P.S: Crazygirl, I don't have RealPlayer, but I am strongly considering getting it. But I appreciate you taking the time, and giving TKA fans what they love.
