I've already contacted Joel via email and offered up my Hot 97 mixes to play on the radio station. He wants me to send him a small sample to see the quality. I'll be trying to get that out to him soon and if anyone wants to offer up there mixes to it would feel like where listening to the real thing. Here is Joel's email SoundIdeasNY@aol.com and here is the text of the message he sent back.
Hey Mike-
Thanks for checking out the "new" station. We just got it up and running but will hopefully be adding some mix show programming very shortly. If the mixes you've got were recorded off the air from HOT back in the day, we probably can't use them because they've already gone through the on-air processing from the radio station and would be heavily compressed and limited. Everything I am using here is in uncompressed wav files for the best possible quality.
If you've got a mix that you can take a small piece of and email to me, I'll take a listen to it and see if they would work. Try to send the highest bit rate file that you can. My email will take a file up to about 12MB.
Thanks again for checkin us out. If you like the station and are listening a lot, please sign up as a LIVE365 VIP. It costs a couple of bucks a month but it helps to cover the costs of all the digital music rights which, if you've been following the recent news, were raised to a level that threatens to put most internet broadcasters out of business
