What do you think can be a huge factor or step in having freestyle up & running again on the map (radio, clubs, etc...) once again?

I'm not saying its dead, cause obviously this site is strong with plenty amount of members!

What's done is done. Freestyle had its rise, and its fall. I don't mean to sound so negative, but I don't think there is anything that can possiby be done to bring Freestyle (as we knew/know it) to where it once was. Radio is a HUGE factor. And in the case of KTU in New York- THEY don't even play new Freestyle. They play the old, classic stuff. Star 93.7 FM in Boston- they play the old, classic stuff. Lets be thankful for that. The last time I heard anything recent was back in 1996 on Kiss 108 in Boston (Joei Mae), which is a Pop/Rock station.

Freestyle isn't dead, but it's not going anywhere. All I can do is give continuous credit to all the artists, producers, disc jockeys, promoters, clubs, and fans that work hard to keep it alive and well in the hearts of many.

I think your right its sad to say...

Freestyle never handed down the torch!!! Theres like a 10 year generation gap out there that needs to be sealed. In other words, The kids are the ones who can take freestyle to the next level. We need to push it on them and let them blow it up cuz I guerrentee if you ask 9 out of 10 kids about freestyle they wont know shit. But if you play it tp them and ask what they think , thell say they like it .Im not talking about lil kids but i mean peeps a lil younger then us who aint been exsposed yet. :idea

you are all right .
each and everyone of you is correct in your own way .
money .
youth
merging with other music
promotion
the return of a streetier style

originality
none repeditive sounds
more talented singers.
mainstream love.
at this point reggaeton is new yorks new freestyle [at least in acceptance by the youth of the city] and they are doing everything we are not ..lastly it is not an over night process

nope it would not really cuz they would have to do an album full of it to start to make real waves

Well; we need legends with new blood.

I like the concept that Mickey Garcia came up with. Bangin Beats features classic freestyle songs along with New tracks that have been released and some being debuted for the first time.

It would be great to see legendary producers come back and work with the new up and comers.
I personally would like to see; Carlos Berrios come back with some tracks. He re-invented the last few times we needed an injection of some new stuff. Together Forever was really incredible. So was a Day in my life and the tomax stuff. It BLEW MY MIND WHEN I HEARD CORINA RE-DO SUMMERTIME (NOCERAS SUMMERTIME) Albert Cabrera did that one; THERE'S A CARLOS VERSION THAT NEVER CAME OUT. Where is this guy? I know he's doing film; There is talk that he may be producing new freestyle tracks!!

I agree; we need the legends to come back once more; re inject some new stuff in the genre whilst collaberating with the new comers.

I have to tell you that there is TREMENDOUS BUZZ GOING ON RIGHT NOW; I hope the LEGENDS ARE READING THIS!!!!!!

I agree with you 100% dave..It would be great to see a legend such as Carlos Berrios come back ..He is a producer I always admired and dreamed of working with...I would LOVE to someday have the chance to work with him....*a girl can dream cant she*..lol well said Dave
