Yeah it's Wizkid lol. He's got a bunch of videos up himself if you want to hear some of his other work lol. I cant wait to tell Wiz about this thread.

Didnt know he was a member here too. Cool.

There's a big one Feb 7th that should be awesome, Willie Valentin's Birthday Bash. I'm heading there tonite to see Sammy Zone and Steffanie Bennett. Hope to see you there sometime Tae.

Chuck, thanks again for all your and your people's support. Without you guys, this music, and the Rt 1 Saturday's would hurt.

I am trying to work on the lighting situation.

As for fans singing along an taping the shows. Who cares! At least they are there and they LOVE IT! They love the artists and music, no matter how good you, I or anyone else think the songs may suck, or artists. We all like shitty songs at some point lol and what is shitty to you or me, may have touched someone so to each their own.

Wow, you guys are cracking me up.
First I gotta tell you, I've been to many of Mr. Miami's recent events and loved everyone of them. Just ask anyone who attends these events if they did to and I doubt that even 1 person would say that they didnt.

The person who is taping those videos happens to be a friend of mine and goes by the name Wizkid on Freestyle.fm. He knows he cant sing and puts the videos up for those who know him cause everyone gets a kick out of them. In his defense, it is hard not to sing along to these shows while recording. I have been to alot of them with him and we both tape them while we're there. You can check my videos out here. I would click on "watch in high quality" or "watch in HD", you get a better video.

The Route 1 cafe may not be the best name or be the best place to throw a show, but I gotta tell ya, its not bad either. Yes the lighting has really sucked the past few shows and hopefully Steve (or whoever) will get that fixed really soon.

Here's the thing. Nobody else around here is doing anything like this. We have to go to Newyork to see a show and well, most of us just cant do that. So I for one am grateful that someone is doing something in this city, and thankfully it's only 10 minutes from my house. There's a bunch of us that try to make each one of these shows cause they are always a good time, plus we want to support the freestyle so that there are more shows. Tony, for you to say that you wouldn't attend an event because of the name of the place shocks me, I wouldnt expect that from you, but to each their own.

good list. And I TOTALLY agree with you on Topaz.

This list in my opinion is so so. Although I have no desire to ever see Stevie B live again, it seems that the crowd really loves him and gets into it, but still wouldnt call him the best.
Tka/k7, yes a great show
Haven't seen Collage or Lil Suzy or Lisa Lisa.
I'd def have to add George Lamond and Judy Torres, the best two In my opinion. I have to add Soave and for the little bit I seen Joe Zangie with Rockell in trenton, Joe Zangie.
I do agree with Pain, Willie Valentin and Sammy Zone, they all put on amazing shows.
Now Topaz, I like a few of his songs, but when I seen him, he didnt exactly blow me away with his stage presence.

Oh no sir. lol

If you look at the dates of my original post (Jan 1), and Latif's comment finally came in yesterday. I put him on the spot, and this was his answer. STILL, not answering the questions I asked of him. That is all.

I actually just replied to him. But thanks for bringing it up lol

Is this why you are mad at Industry Peeps?

The only thing Krusty about Mr Miami's show, is MR. MIAMI! Yo, how long you been doing this dawg? I heard you still trying to promote 200 capacity clubs... and can't pack them! Lol... I have 21 year old promoters packing 2000 plus venues around the country. If you like, I'll put you in touch with a few, they'll give you some tips on how to do this. Also, a little marketing tip here... How you gonna try and represent Philly with a name like Mr. Miami? Shouldn't you change it to Mr. Philly? We can call you Phil for short. It's Friday night, you probably won't see this till tomorrow bacause you have to go hand out flyers!

You people don't realize how lucky you are to have freestyle shows, especially of new school artists. Out here in Chicago, we're happy to get the same ol' once or twice a year, if even.

I do realize it. That's why I go to as many as I can. There hasn't been any shows here in years and this past year I have went to countless shows and loved and appreciated everyone of them. And I do realize that many don't get that oppertunity to see these shows in their area, and its for them that I record the shows I do. I would rather dance and sing along to them, but restrain myself (You dont know how hard it is lol) for those who don't get to see these shows live.

If you haven't been keeping up with the "la" bs it has been getting interesting as latif is responding finally. It is a good read over at his board.

I read the thread and there's nothing new in the responces going back and forth.
They are all pretty typical.

My question is that both Latif and Mr Miami have been rumored of booking or promoting acts and then not having the money to pay the Artist.

Is this correct information?

Rumored? I luv this shit man! Sure why not! That is why the groups that "rumored" come to rt 1 (from out of state I add), just to hang out --or better yet perform again with another booking OR (my favorite) an impromtu performance. YEP! Mr. Miami is a bad guy and doesn't pay! lol

I can't speak for Latif, I don't know about what you speak of.

Do you pay the Artists that you book Mr Miami?
Do you try and talk them down in price when they are already in the venue and no one is there?
Do you owe them money after it is all set and done?
Do you put Freestyle Artists on lay away?

Those are the questions.

CPR...Hello and how are you? Happy New Year !
Wow this sure is good reading. I'm....... well , speechless !!!
I have a headache!!! One thing I do want to say is , I totally disagree with artist who go to do a show, WITHOUT ONE !! Take PRIDE in what you do!!! Give it your all !! If you go up there "half ass", you cheat YOURSELF !!!!

Hello Friend.
Hope all is well.

Hope you had a few chuckles.

If any Artist wants to see the way you do a show please feel free to Youtube Joei's performance.

I saw some videos of a few of Joei Mae's shows & they certainly were on a much higher level than most freestyle performances. The thing that really caught my attention was how perfected everything was. The dancers routines seemed as polished as I've ever seen in freestyle. I just remember thinking "they had to have choreographed & rehearsed that beforehand". She got a point when she says that artists "cheat themselves" by goin up there half ass cuz you never know who's watching & people do talk.
