-Do you try and talk them down in price when they are already in the venue and no one is there?
I am fair with my bids. As for the room at rt 1 --I know --for a fact --by experience and trial and error on what / who will draw and a very good esitmate. It's an art. AND IF --and WHEN it ever happens that someone exceeds my estimation... they will be reward with extra money and/or another booking at a higher price. Why don't you re-read my original post, I do lay it out in there.

-Do you owe them money after it is all set and done?
Out of all the shows I booked, I owed 2 acts a small amount of money --communicated and resolved. Both acts have worked for me again and both are friendly --at least to my face, hey and they come to RT 1 when they don't perform. We all know how people are, now don't we CPR?

-Do you put Freestyle Artists on lay away?
In what attempts to look like humor, no.

I agree that an artist who does a performance with no show (old or new) is cheating themselves and the fans. BUT --just like rock, alternative, and rap music new artist must have a place to practice their craft LIVE. Without the mess ups and disasters or car crashes they can't get better. They can see and hear what they need to improve. Look the bottom line is the better ones will rise to the top (and by top whatever that may be in their own individual head). Who are we to past judegment on them? Like what I do --or anyone else is the best at everything f'n thing we do? No, but I know I try when I apply myself.

I saw some videos of a few of Joei Mae's shows & they certainly were on a much higher level than most freestyle performances. The thing that really caught my attention was how perfected everything was. The dancers routines seemed as polished as I've ever seen in freestyle. I just remember thinking "they had to have choreographed & rehearsed that beforehand". She got a point when she says that artists "cheat themselves" by goin up there half ass cuz you never know who's watching & people do talk.

Of course I watch. So when they ask me (and the Artists do ask my opinion all of the time!) what they "could do better" I just need reference the archived footage; I do appreciate it!

I don't need to read what you wrote again; There's a reason for my questions.

From now on people will judge you by your responces.

It doesn't matter if they like you or if they hate you.
If this is the way you conduct business (and they agree to it) then it is their responsibility to understand your business practices.

As a matter of fact they have no one to blame if they don't know the rules to your game.

And some of those Artists need to be on layaway.

If they get to the show and put on a performance like the one shown on this thread then they should give you a $100.00 back; Of course that would mean that they wouldn't be getting paid that night... But the customers need to get their money's worth.

Just because people are screaming doesn't mean the Artist put on a good show.
