Looking for song information

I'm new to the forums. My question is this, I have a cassette tape with a song on it, that I've been holding on to for years now. I've not been able to figure out who the artist is or the title of the song... and I really love listening to the song. I must have recorded it off the radio back in my teen years!

This is as best as I can remember the song (lyrics might not all be right but close)

I had thought the artist may have been a person named Brandon, but honestly I have no clue who did this song, just that it was a male performer.

Does anyone have a clue?

Destiny by Brandon (which is what I had thought originally) now where can i locate it?
