Kenny that's fine, I was only making an example from your example...Sometimes members of this forum elevate their favorite Freestyle artists to a "Holier than thou" status...

Especially when an artist is making their so-called "big comeback"...It tends to be some of the funniest stuff you will ever read...

Just watch, when the next "Freestyle Legend" announces they have something new gearing-up for release, just see how many people jump on that bandwagon...

We saw it when TKA announced their reunion and FOREVER album...

We are now seeing it with the return of Johnny O.

And for those who were present in Sunday night's chat session, you were able to witness it live and in action with Stevie B...

LMAO

Many people are embarking in different music. Nothing wrong with that. many artists have done that in the past (brenda, george, india)
BUT Johnny O is not saying he is not doing freestyle, HE IS!! He is not letting his fans down!

hey I missed Stevie B - his new cd is NOT FREESTYLE it's a 2 cd one instrumental and one R&B.

Jason are you the Jason that wrote the Atomic Reaction newsletter? I am sending u a pm.

That's good to know. At least Freestyle still lives in HIS heart.

Jason,

Like it was discussed in another thread, there are many reasons why people aren't buying the newer releases...Here a a few possibilites

1. They are just tired of wasting thier money on CrapStyle and don't want to take a chance on a new Freestyle release
2. The new releases are hard-to-find and usualy have to be purchased through an on-line vendor
3. Why buy it when they can download it for free?
4. Why buy it when I can burn myself a copy off of my friend's copy (which is most likely a burned copy as well, lol)...

Does anyone really think freestyle can be done with major backing. Toni said it best and if I could figure out how to find her post I'd say it.

All these guys are doing the best that they can and having to work within a Label's requirements as the label is putting in the money. Why is that so hard to understand? We have to be more understanding and follow the money side.

Why can't more effort be placed on understanding that and then seeing how to move forward.

Rhoq I don't think Jason is arguing that he just presented both options for the fans1

Bassy...

A label isn't always the one fronting the money for the project. This is the Freestyle industry, alot of music industry standard practices are null and void in the world of Freestyle. This is a music where most of the people invold in making it are flat broke and stand to see almost nothing in return but the satisfaction of living their dream of releasing a Freestyle song.

Also, just to make myself clear, I was in no way trying to argue a point with Jason. I was just restating information from a previous thread for anyone who may not have read it a few weeks ago.

Well that is certainly a fair statement with Hot and a few others Rhoq but I thought the discussion was ZYX! They have put up the money for the project itself and the marketing of it according to JO. He has been very open and upfront about the numbers too (far and above what is usual in any artist I've followed). Johnny O is not in the same position as someone who has never been on a record before or had a hit.

I'm trying very hard to keep the discussion on point in my head and it's getting harder if you put that nonarguable fact into play here.

I know you weren't arguing with Jason. I also am pointing out that he presented both sides...buy everything or wait and hear reviews and buy what u like!

What i want o know is why everyone always comes here when they have a problem to air out or some type of grievance? Why not go to the other site(s) and vent out the frustration? Why make CF the battle grounds? Honestly, it;s giving everyone a bad name when this happens.

OKAY, YOU PEEPS MADE ME PUT MY 2 CENTS IN

First off: KENNY, I'M WITH YOU.

Second: Roq,,you said this..

"This further proves my belief that many of the people that frequent Club Freestyle truly believe that these Freestyle artists are gods in their eyes. The truth is, all of these artists are no different or any better than anyone here. The moment you treat them like a celebrity or a god is the minute the artists begin to believe that crap themselves!!!

LMAO:

I SAY TO YOU: I have to disagree with you. What is an artist? Are they not a celebrity if they are known through out the world? Why not treat them as "Celebrity". I think the word "GOD" is an over statement..and to each it's own. I SAY, GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.

JASON@ATOMIC..You said this...

You never go on a Hip-Hop music website and hear fans crying that record companies are putting out too much crap Rap , and that it will ruin the genre. Hip-Hop Heads stick together in the public eye.

I SAY TO YOU: DUDE, I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE.

SO WHY CAN'T WE ALL DO THE SAME? A good friend of mine who is in the business told me that the Freestyle community down here just isn't into freestyle and it's not supporting it. And that's why it's having such a rough time staying alive, except in NY. I say that really stinks. There are lots of FS fans down here, but the cashing cashing is not available.

Therefore, if Johnny O or any other artist for that matter heads out to Europe to make it,,I SAY MORE POWER TO YOU!!!! GO FOR IT!!!! US LITTLE PEOPLE WILL BE HERE WAITING 4-U

that's my piece.

Rhoq,
i agree with you fully on that. this is a big reason that some artists put out sh#t or non-freestyle and people here on CF like it no matter what. several times you see people even calling house and trance on here freestyle, just because it was made by their god-like artist. these artists will not improve when people tell them their music is great just because they are star-struck. these artists should hear some real criticism, and it may come from people other than CF members when their music doesn't get radio airplay (not saying that none of the music has no chance of airplay because there is a good song or two out there, but most of the music they are counting on to be big will not happen).
