Me let me tell you as a catholic women Im not going to lie. Ive always had problems understanding this and yet no one can explain so please some one anyone explain this in the bible one of the commandments say basically there is only one god and for he to pray before him and not idols. SO why is it that we pray to saints?
 
well the 1st commandment is ''thall shall not WORSHIP any Gods but me [God]. I think thats kinda different then just praying to a Saint....I dont know maybe u do gotta point.

You shouldnt pray to the saints you only pray to God. He is the one who answers prayers not them and plus it is not scriptural.

Good question girl!! LOL How are you and how's working coming along. I have to add more wood to the fire. Why do we pray to the Virgin Mary too?
 
I think people pray to saints because each one has a specific purpose such as healing sick people, and I even think that there's one you pray to if you need help getting out of debt...basically they're there to help out God, and let's face it, he needs all the help he can get...as for the virgin mary, it depends who you ask, since the catholics have her in high regard, but the pentecostals say she was a slut, and the mormons deny her existence!

Men.. in their infiinite wisdom have taken something so simple and have made it into a huge Mess.. There are Baptists, Pentecostals, Protestants, 7th Day Adventists, Catholics, Carismaticos (which is a combo of Catholics who now believe in the speaking of tongues and therefore dont wanna call themselves Pentecostals).. um.. the list goes on.. All these "denominations" have a taken a PORTION of the bible and have APPLIED it as their "version" of how you should worship. Me.. personally.. I have nothing against whatever any body else believes in, but talking to a Saint? (which is something I've never understood) Why talk to a Mediator when u can go RIGHT to the Source??!! Not to pick on religions..but also Catholics believe that their SINS are forgiven when they go and "confess" to a Priest. According to the Bible.. YOU ONLY ARE to CONFESS your sins and troubles to God.. HE's the one answering your prayers and thru the Blood of Jesus Christ that was SHED in Calvary are our sins washed away.. So do u think Im really gonna go to pray to Mary? or to Priest whomever? What if they AREN"T in good standing w/ God? Then What? Who they going to??? 🙂

I never understood why someone would pray to a saint.

I remember once losing a class ring, and someone told me to pray to St. Anthony, because he was the saint of "finding lost things"..... :confused :confused :confused

They even gave me a "prayer" to say....."Tony, Tony, please look around.... something is lost that needs to be found."

I said it (even though it seemed irreverant) and found the ring, because I kept looking for it. lmao.

I have heard of different people praying to saints. I never did. I always pray to God.
