true, they were kinda pop. but so were tha cover girls. Angel's vocals were so bubblegum it could give u a toothache! to me tha rawest freestyle girl group was Sweet Sensation. they came with tha real street type freestyle, just raw wit tha dj breaks, handclaps, vocoder, all that good stuff!😛

Kenny, it doesn't matter if Angel is still out there carrying the name with her 2 sidekicks...i think that when someone asks if the Cover Girls will ever come back, they're probably talking about the original trio...

Orgntr1, in addition to the chords, "Point of no return" also has a Freestyle beat.

Yeah, I was talking about the original trio when I had asked that question!..😉

Cover Girls Without A Doubt!!!

In my opinion, the cover girls and cynthia are two of the biggest pioneers of female freestyle artists. Covers girls have consistently come out with slammin hits one after another. Although Expose has come out with some great songs as well, I don't think many freestyle groups can come close to the number of ver y popular tracks that the covers girls came out with. Just my opinion! 😀

Cover Girls All The Way!

There's no question in my mind who i would choose. It would be the Cover Girls in a heartbeat. Expose's 3 top songs were good, but the Cover Girls songs were all great classics. I still pump "Inside Outside" in my car. In my opinion, the Cover Girls songs were better to blast in a car. What does everyone else think???

Hmmmm.......

I love both Cover Girls and Expose` I consider both of them freestyle groups. Everyone mentions 3 Expose' songs, but what about "What You Don't Know"? I always thought that was freestyle.

However when I have to choose the top girl group.......it goes to...

SWEET SENSATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANK U Chuck!!!!!!!! i agree wit u 100%, Sweet Sensation kicks everyone's ass! 😀

but as for "What You Don't Know", i guess it was semi-freestyle. but just not all tha way (to me). i mean it had tha salsa flavor to it wit tha horns n everything. but tha beat was kinda more on a pop vibe. kinda like "my prerogative" or "cold hearted" which were popular pop songs at around that same time. it kinda fits in better wit those than tha freestyle records of that time.
