Rhoq after seeing your post abot this remake I have enough confidence to say that i freakin here ya pal. As an ex huge fanatic fan of New Edition I can say that Sa-fire's and and Cynthias idea of giving their twist to this True R & B Classic was a total flop.
Like "the rock says" this is an example of why freestyle hasnt gone farther and doesnt receive much attn. In correction, he did nt say that it was in fact the reason why freestyle f***** up but that it was just a example.
I love cynthia and sa fire but I am only critical to the song because i felt that it shouldve been alot better in this case being a freestyle duet. I feel its a song that wont go further and will just remain another freestyle song that wouldve.
My advice to the industry: im sure there is a way for freestyle to comeback. But now its a different time, you cant be using the same old beats and keys from the 80's. It's a whole new ball game out there. I believe that we can still keep it underground without it sucking.
And yes i do believe that if you can do an excellent job in remaking a past joint then by all means. i have no problem with remakes just as long as their good.
Im not getting at cynthia and sa fire because of this but you would think that for the state of freestyle itself that they would come up with something good and creative. i dont care mariah and them. they re not freestyle.
