Hey Victor....take it up with them then...it wasn't my idea...lol

geez people..lets take it easy here huh ? its getting just a little out of hand.

hehe for realz! lez jus take it easy 😀

but with like any type of music whether it be freestyle, r&b, rap, etc .. theres always gonna be new releases where someone will like a song and others wont. everyone has diff taste .. i personally like the remade .. it was much better than what boyz II men did even though theres was more of an acapella/harmony type of song. .. either way, hope the song does good 🙂

Hmmm...Perhaps I should keep future comments about new releases to myself?

Nah - This board seems to wake up whenever I speak my mind!!!

Kenny - Re: Puff Daddy, Mariah Carey, Will Smith, etc...Hip-Hop/R&B is huge. They are artists in a genre of music that is large enough where they can take the risk of being unoriginal without tarnishing the genre of their game. Freestyle on the other hand is tiny, each release represents the genre. If artists/producers/labels release something that doesn't help to improve the overall image of Freestyle music then it MAY (I'm not saying it will, but it could) do some damage and help Freestyle continue on with it's overall negative perception by the mainstream public. Bottom line is Hip-Hop/R&B can survive with countless unoriginal releases simply because the music is so amazingly huge it doesn't matter to the industry. Fans would not receive the new P Diddy (or whateve his name is now) or Will Smith song with disgust and say that these songs represent the genre. Freestyle is too small to risk it and unfortunately each Freestyle release is a representation of our genre!!!

LOL, I just love it when you people speak your minds! Victor- I love reading what you got to say, its always well put togather, like you dont even give second thoughts about it! yeah johnny, we kinda needs to chill though, it sometimes gets out of hand...I should know! (hehehe). but anyways, your right bout what you sad vic, and Johnyyyy, dont worry! we got nothing else but love for youuuu!

Oh, and I never ever heard that song before, until Safire and Cynthia made the remake, but I guess I have an excuse. I wasnt born back then!....lol

Jesus F'ing Christ! Are you people crazy.

Rhoq is on the money.

Do you people thinking freestyle is going to go mainstream if people waste their time on crap like "Can You Stand The Rain". There is no freaking hope for the genre of music when you think "Can You Stand The Rain" is a step forward. Start your own freaking label and try to get recognized with crap!

Screw the F' ing remakes!

There is no hope when the artists and fans do not know what they are talking about

Nobody said this song was going to change the word. Can't we just take it for what it is and give credit where it's due ?

This SHIT is pissed me off. These 2 ladies did this for their fans. I don't know why some of you are using such radical words toward their work????

Thanks for shooting down someons attemt to bring us more music.

I dont beleive this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ING SHIT !

Jeez!!!

Look some people like it some don't why is it that the ones who don't like this song get berrated and screamed on. To each his own. Be realistic this song will not be played anywhere else other than KTU. or maybe Z100, and that's a stretch, but it won't lift off the ground. Some people have a right to their own opinions and taste. If we all liked the same things we would not be individuals. I personally will not pound by views into someone elses head just because they dont agree with me. It's not the end of the world if this song has not been met by Cheers. From what I've read"Not what I expected" and "It's ok" will not affect the sales outside of this forum. Europe may fall in love with this song or HEY! it may be an international hit! Who care's that 92% of us don't greet this song warmly. I said it sounded good but I wouldnt buy it immediately. That's not a warm reception but will you kill me for that? I still love the girls and look forward to the next songs that they each put out. Their career is not over because of Clubfreestyle.com!!🙄 Jeez!

And to add to what LMond is saying...

The same points keep being made over and over. No one is listening to eachother!! 🙁

I got the point buddy!

lmond, thanks for the lesson there. I will be sure to make a note of it.

don't be so critical

yo i liked it, thought it was great. its been in my head ever since Sunday. it was a great birthday surprise! i was pleasantly surprised because when i heard they would be remaking "Can You Stand The Rain" i was unsure if this would be fast or slow. and i couldn't really imagine this as a fast song. but when i heard it...i luved it! they managed to put a freestyle spin on this song while keeping tha dramatic feel it had as a slow jam.

i liked tha original + Cynthia & Safire + freestyle...man there was no way i couldnt have luved this one! i was kinda unsure whether or not to post nothin cuz i dont want people to think im just liked it cuz of Cynthia. yes i am a big fan of Cynthia's. i think she is very talented and soooooooo beautiful! lol! and i also like a lotta Safire's old school stuff as well. but DON'T GET IT TWISTED! i like this song because i do like tha song! i would've like this even if it had been George LaMond & TKA! i just thought it was well done. i also liked "Earn My Love" which i see some a youz didnt! LOL! i donno, maybe being a fan, i am going to like anything Cynthia does. i can't help it! i've heard only exceptional stuff from her. but i think that's what being a fan is though. not saying that if u didnt like tha song it means u dont like tha artist, im just saying for me, thats how i feel.

but i am kinda confused as to why everyone is focused on this being a remake. its not like either of these 2 ladies have done many. i could see if this was Collage or Rockell (no disrespect, just using as an example), people being like "oh another remake", but we have only heard one remake from Cynthia which was over a decade ago! and i dont recall ever hearing any remakes from Safire. some of u guys are acting like these two have commited a federal offense and should locked up forever! it was a nice effort from two of our favorite ladies of freestyle. lets just take it for what it is! dont be so critical...it's freestyle, let's just have fun wit it!😀

peace & respect,
Mark

can this song be put in the smash / trash section so all of us that didn't get a chance to hear it can?

yup this song will probably be in SMASH or Trash.
I am going to find out from DJ Johnny Budz.. see what we can do.

Rhoq said:
I never said it was weak simply because it is a remake. I did say that this remake was unecessary simply because the original version was perfect...

That's saying the same thing! So, I guess artists should only do remakes of less-than-perfect songs???? 🙄

Whoever said the remake was 'perfect' ??? LOL

Can't be that perfect..i barely remembered it until i heard this remake.
