For the past two weeks, KTU has been playing a new song called "If You Don't Know Me By Now" (not a remake of the Simply Red song) by Aubrey. I don't know why, but I hear freestyle when I listen to this song. I don't know if it is classified as break beat or what, it this song sounds freestyle to me.

Has anyone else heard this????
 
I heard the song Chuck, but It didn't ring a freestyle tone to me. I'll listen closely to it next time.

I could be completely off, but for some reason, I thought it sounded freestlyish to me. Not sure why, but that was the first thought that popped into my head.
 
yeah chuck i heard it a bunch of times... sounds like uptempo (progressive) freestyle to me.... i didn't think it was a great song, guess it just hasn't grown on me yet.... 🙂

Dude, I love that song. It grew on me the first time I heard it.

Nice to see someone who thinks it's "freestyle-ish" at least.
 
Aubrey and I were working on a track together, She had said she wanted to stay far away from freestyle. Our Project was put on hold because she works a full time job and was tuff getting to NY from PA. Then I hear this freestylish track on the radio she just did I THINK with Bad boy Joe. I wonder if she is happy being called a freestyle artist now..LOL (I'll bet Not)

I'm not calling Aubrey a freestyle artist. I'm just saying that I think her song sounds "freestyle-ish" to me, and someone else agreed with me.

I know I know, My comment is not directed to you, Its more towards HER. You are not the first one to comment that her track sounds freestylish. Perhaps you didnt read my last post.


She had said she wanted to stay far away from freestyle. This may not be freestyle, But It's not FAR Away...
 
I looooooooove this song! Actually it was remixed by KTU's Johnny Budz not bad boy joe, which is why it may sound freestyle-ish. I emailed johnny buds about it and he gave me the link to his website where i was able to listen to it. u can hear it at www.johnnybudz.com i consider it freestyle!

To hear the song, after you enter the site, click on discography. When that screen loads, scroll down until you see "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Aubrey. Then, you will be able to hear the clip!
