WTF? You have to pay to join a fan club or get an autograph?

I went to MArc Anthony's website and wanted to join his fan club and to my amazement the website was asking for $30.00 to be in the fan club. I'm a BIG Marc fan but WTF? Also I've know of artists who charge for autographs or to take pictures with them? Coñoooo!!!

I have really yet to come upon a fan club for most singers/or actors that dont charge you to join their fan clubs. And the thing is you hardly get anything out of being in any of those fan clubs. I used to belong to fan clubs of some soap opera stars and New Kids on the Block..you get a decent package in the beginning, but after that all you get is a newsletter every now and then. There are no real benefits to being in a fan club!

as for people that charge, ive only seen the old school wrestlers charge for autographs (well, theyre way too old to wrestle so they have to pay the rent somehow!)

that's a dumb rule, but maybe it's because they want to control the number of people signing up, or else the site would be overloaded. (or the webmaster/club head's real crabby.)
