just a thought..what if an underground freestyle artist went on american idle, won and put out an album that has freestyle..since it seems whoever wins and puts out an album sells millions would freestyle be bought if it was the winner of american idol?..im nuts ha :dancepuff

You're assuming the American Idol producers and record companies would allow the winner to put freestyle on their album. That's a big assumption!

The fact is the winners have a team of songwriters and producers who write all their songs for them. No record company, in their right mind, would allow the winner to put freestyle on their album.

what if they go into american idol as a freestyle artist and win the peoples vote as a freestyle artist?

Even if an underground freestyle artist won American Idol doing freestyle, they'd just snake the genre on the album the way all the other popular freestyle artists do (TKA, Coro, etc.). You know how even though the fans want freestyle, "who cares what the fans want, let's try to get other fans".

I feel you, but Its usually the lable thats responsible. The artists is provided lyrics and beats by the producers most of the time. I mean if its not a freestyle operation to begin with, you can forget about it for sure.

LOL.....so true. Let's just leave it at that.

Just wanna add, I think the freestyle that will be comming out in the next couple of years will be done exsclusivly by freestylers and thats it. I mean occasionally tou get a pop dance artist releaseing a freestyle version of a song , and when freestylas hear it , they think theres a new freestyle artist out. They buy the cd only to find out theyve been had by a remix. well , its 2004 and it seems the only people who give a shit about freestyle is us , the community!! So if any freestyles gonna be done at all, its being done by us.
