And by saying someone "sucks", it can mean a lot of different things, but they are all all negative, and all defamatory.

If fanaticjoe had said Ashley sucks, AND gave a whole list of reasons why that may condition other people to think she is a bad person, then she has grounds to sue....but saying someone sucks is just an opinion

No actually, if he had given a list of reasons why he said what he did, it would have better explained his position and more than likely it could have avoided alot of this BS...

ASHLEY HAS A BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND AS RHOQ SAYS DEFINTLY HOLDS HER OWN SHE IS OUT THERE DOING HER THING. SHE GETS PROPS FOR THAT AND THEN SOME TO GO AS FAR AS SAYING SHE SUCKS WAS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR. Which is exactly why Fanaticjoe shouldn't have said what he said.

We are supposed to be talking about music.

And by they way the word "sucks" has more than one connotation.

So "saying someone sucks" as you put it so eloquently, is not always the best way to say you don't like them.

I'll break down to you like this...

If you have a problem with someone or their music, don't make half-assed statements without explaining yourself. It's fine, FantaicJoe established the fact that he has some sort of problem with Ashley. If he had displayed an ounce of maturity and intelligence, he would have elaborated on the issues and made his argument much clearer. He would have earned the respect of myself and other members and perhaps even Ashley herself if he had approached this matter from an entirely different direction.

Take it from me, I am forever starting or finding myself in the middle of bullshit and/or drama. I will never disrespect an artist on a professional or personal level without backing it up with details.

Yeah it does, jason, but in what other context could he have possibly used the word "sucks"? Maybe if he had, say, Ashley sucks @#$% then ok, that's a bit extreme, but he didn't. I also think a person would be getting of easy if I used the word suck to describe how much I dislike them, LOL.....but, really jason, take a look at my post about Gussie Blocker, then go back to fanaticjoe's post.....I think mine is a hell of a lot worse than his

I don't see you disrespecting Gussie Blocker on a personal level. You are ripping the song and her vocals, but you did not come right out and say "Gussie Blocker sucks..."

You even elaborated a bit as to why you don't like the song...
 
Not exactly, because you eluded to reasons why you don't like the song.

It would have been just as bad if you said something like "Man, I think that SONG sucks and the artist that sings it sucks too"...without giving any specific details to tell us why you feel that way.
