Even though I posted this a few years ago. Since we get new members each day, just want to get some thoughts. What was the worst freestle song ever. Which song you think caused Hot97 to change to Hip Hop?LOL

i hate to admit it but i think you may be correct. also the vocals on "tears shed". the song could have been a lot better if they let someone who could sing do it. when the industry saw that producers were just putting together tracks like these hot 97 bailed. also i know im gonna get tons of hate mail for this but when lisette melendez came out with the planet rock baseline on very one of her songs that was that. don't get me wrong i still listen to all of these songs but but there is no excuse for bad vocals and bad productions. if you think about it these things happen in every genre of music. take kelly osbourne for example. clearly the musical gene missed her all together yet ktu is playing her new song and she is even going to perform at beatstock. maybe her and the girl from tears shed should do a duet. maybe they will win a grammy. but great singers like judy torres and goerge lamond will never win a grammy because there is no freestyle catagory.
 
no drama chuck. just being real. as i said i still listen to everything freestyle. its a pretty explicite question. not everyone will agree or like the answers. one thing we all have in common is the love of freestyle.

I just don't like these type of questions.

Maybe you didn't like the songs, but the singers of those songs did their best, and poured their heart into the performances.

As for Johnny O. and "the girl who sings 'Tearshed'" (her name is Emmery Torres) they are both members here, and probably not be happy to see their names thrown here.

Before people come here and say stuff like, "He/she can't sing, had no business being on the record, can't write, it's the WORST ever".....think of what it is you do, and how it would feel if someone who has NEVER done that, came up behind and said "that is the worst ever".
 
Hey Chuck, I'm not wanting to start controversy.LOL. Just asking a question. We love freestyle, but even this genre has drop some songs that asks the question: What the fu*k were they smoking?"
 
chuck. i was once told that we a free to state our opinion on this site. sorry but as long as you are in the entertainment business people will have good and bad things to say about you regardless of how it makes you feel. if you believe in yourself no matter how people knock you it wont make a difference to you. i know you have the power to kick me off the site but i just want to say that im not a bad person i just have my opinion. i know the popularity of both these songs and i realize that the very artist may be reading this but i offered my opinion thats all. johnny o is the man and i look foward to seeing him always and the tears shed singer (emmery) im sure she has a huge fan base as well. i just don't understand why people get so uptight over when someone ask for an opinion and its not an opinion that everyone agrees with. no disrespect to you chuck but lighten up a little. please.
 
i really never saw the appeal of dreamboy/dreamgirl but thats just me i love freestyle but for some damn reason i couldnt stand the song..
i listen to the song and its alright i guess but for some reason it just irked me..but i wouldnt say it was the worst song i just didnt like lol..

hhhhm but worst song there were alot i really didnt like to many of the freestyle songs with the planet rock beat.

I can't stand "Diamond Girl" by Nice & Wild ... especially certain parts like the Intro when you hear the water splash effect and those damn effects that kept saying push it. Not to mention I think around the break when some dude with a deep voice was rapping (or at least I think he was rapping).

lol thank god David went solo ... he is definitely much better and talented as a solo artist.

There is a huge difference between saying "I don't like Fantasy Girl. Johnny O's vocals were awful on that track" and "I hate Fantasy Girl - Johnny O sucks".

Personally, I happen to like both "Fantasy Girl" and "Tear Shed". The vocals might not be the greatest, but the songs still kick ass regardless. 😉
 
the topic shouldve been what song annoyed you the most lol, and not say one song was the worst just what song for some reason or the other annoyed you..
cause theres good songs out there that that sometimes you hate.

sometimes if a good song is played alot itll just make u hate the damn song more and other times its the opposite u hear a song thats not that good and the more they play it you start liking it.funny how life works lol
