Gornicevo is correct. South American teams and European teams have won in the past. Here is another piece of trivia: When the world cup has been played in Europe a European team has won the world cup. When the world cup has been played in the Americas a South American team has won the world cup. There are only 2 exceptions: the World Cup of 1958 was played in Sweden(Europe) and was won by Brazil(South America). The other exception is World Cup 2002 played in South Korea/Japan(Asia) and was won by Brazil(South America).SONYA said:Thanks for the info...just like I thought only South America and Europe have ever won
Do you want to know who won in the past? I'll tell you:
Argentina has 2.
Brazil has 5.
England has 1.
France has 1.
Germany has 1. West Germany has 2.
Italy has 3.
Uruguay has 2.
Anyway, today is the day that World Cup draw takes place in Germany at apporximately 1:20pm EST (1330). I'll be following it on TV. The first eight seeds have already been picked back on the sixth. They are: Germany, Brazil, England, Spain, Mexico, France, Argentina, and Italy. It will be interesting to see what teams will be in which groups.
