I agree with you to a certain degree...BUT the only way for Freestyle to get noticed again is step up the quality of new productions. Now-a-days it seems like everyone that records a new Freestyle song isn't willing to take the extra steps necessary in refining the sound and putting in that touch of quality that the Old School had.
As Legend mentioned earlier in this thread, everyone is so gung-ho about taking their new song to LatinoMix and What If? Productions that they don't take the time to finish what is essentially just a demo.
Another thing - in order for SoundScan to be effective way of guaging how well new Freestyle releases are selling, the music needs to be made available in all major music retail outlets. Right now most artists/labels are selling it on-line, in local "Mom & Pop" stores and out of the trunk of their car - Which is not effective if you want you want numbers from SoundScan.
