Hey D! Well, I dont know myself. But to me, a classic is an oldie, but a goodie that is still bein played and its hot, or that it was a hit..ya know? What do u think?
I think you hit it right on tha nose Crystal!! An oldie but goodie that still gets airplay and every1 can tap their feet, or bop their head, or shake their @$$ 2 it!!! That 2 me iz a CLASSIC!!!!
I'm kinda with you on that one. To me, a classic is something that is remembered well after it was a hit. And younger people who didn't hear it the first time it was released would like the song anyway. Radio stations would play them occasionally.
Unfortunately, by this criteria, MOST Freestyle hits would not qualify for this title. A few songs that would qualify include:
"Let The Music Play" - Shannon
"Spring Love" - Stevie B.
"If You Leave Me Now" - Jaya
"Can You Feel The Beat" - Lisa Lisa
"When I Hear Music" - Debbie Deb
(I'm not sure that I would even consider the last 2 as Freestyle.)
A Freestyle chart hit like "Temptation" by Corina didn't have the timeless quality to make it a classic. (I still like the song anyway.)
I'm going by strict rules. So a compilation called "Freestyle Classics" (I know there's one out there) will be more inclusive to fill in the 74 minute CD.
