🙁 man if i was out in ny again i would be driving to jamaica queens..lol that where i used to see mad bootlegs..🙁 if any one fidn teh dj name let us know..ill send my cousin to look for me ,...
Maybe as to freak the beats with other sh*t that you wouldn't think it would be done with. i.e.: Fresstyle and hip hop. FREAK IT ON! Kay, what's the title again? and some of the track listings on that cd? maybe I can check with my bro and his local bootleggah...
That definitely sounds like freestyle over reggatone tracks...
Being that to me, a lot of reggaton is so noisy, high pitched, a little melody in song with some love songs (what freestyle brings) would be something hot to get closer to that special person in the club... I can't wait to check that out my damn self..
I don't understand what all the excitement is about? I personally find the current state of rap and hip hop to be deplorable! I don't care that rap/hip hop is probably the most popular mainstream music. At least Freestyle has class and a soul! Those genres of music have gone from becoming important music mediums to catering to the lowest common denominator. Most mainstream rap/hip hop is vulgar, crude, lewd, and outright disguisting. Just look at the cd cover and track listing...a barely clothed chic...Jay Z, Lil Kim, Missy... How many more songs do I have to hear that talk about bitches, hos, and bling bling? You think that I would listen to the song just because a Freestyle artist's song was mixed into the track or a Freestyle artist collaborated on the track? I would be personally ashamed if I heard Fat Joe rapping about some ass he got last night and then George LaMond sang the chorus. I am all for our genre of music going to the next level, but not at this cost. I don't want to see Freestyle sell out like that! I can see how a particular Freestyle artist who wants to switch gears benefits, but I don't see how Freestyle benefits? This is strictly my opinion!
Anyway, I would buy this just because its 'fresh' and I would get a kick to listen to it b/c how tight it might sound. Being that many of us prob. has thought about doing some sort of ''remixes'' to some FS tracks with Rap or some other genre & thinking how it would sound like....smart whoever did that mix Kay mentioned.
this is a quote by alex as posted above

WELL I KNEW SOMEONE WOULD SAY SOMETHING !
my excitement comes from the fact that this style of music is being reached out by its parternal twin [ hip hop ] and though i agree that freestyle those have a soul and style for a while it has needed a boost to reenergise itself so that that the music industry would want to do anything more than just another compliation .now the mixtape genre is basically something that would help the new freestyle singer and even the old schoolers to reach a audience which needs a music with a soul and history.
we [freestyle ] have been reduced to one big show a year [copa/ beatstock] the 6 am mix [ktu ] or one lunch break or the sunday night three hour show .now that will not fan the flames of growth due to the fact that new blood is not really welcome but with this effort by the most unlikely or in your case unwanted of sources it gives room for the artist such as george lamond or even myself or even new schoolers to be welcome in and thought of as cool by a younger generation and open doors that have been closed to us so now we could reach more main stream dj's and record labels ..
it is called evolution all other forms of music was allowed to do so that is why there still relevent freestyle needs to evolve i am not a big fan of hip hop but i am curious as to what this cd sounds like saw some interesting combinations
