the question is, in case you didn't under stand, what do you think artists making remakes of freestyle songs? or even the same artist doing an updated version of there big songs?? I personelly think that if it's done right and if the original song is still the predomenint part of the remake it's fine it just makes freestyle songs played on the radio now in a newer style or with a diffrent beat. (in most cases)

I LOVE THE ORIGINAL WAYS OF FREESTYLE REMAKES ARE GOOD I GOTTA ACCEPT THEM TOO BUT IF ONE ARTIST DID IT KEEP TO THAT THIS IS MY OPNION BUT ITS GOOD THAT THEY UPDATE IT

It's like any other Freestyle song, some are good, and some are bad!!! I happen to like "Love of a Lifetime."

There are some remakes that I like , like Lil Suzy Take me in your arms and Arabian Nights by Tony Moran.
But some remakes are so ass like the remake of Dreamboy/Dreamgirl by Rockell and Collage. Please🙄

My thoughts on remakes...............
I don't like any remakes. Not in freestyle or any other type of music. I say get your own music and be original. Why bite off other peoples work!
🙄

OK...Perfect examples of why not to go for "remake" Freestyle Songz...one was already mentioned..."Died I Your Arms"...here are some others...

"Dreamboy/Dreamgirl" by Collage and Rockell...I love these two as indivduals, but for this song? Johnny O and Cythia made a permanent mark on that song! Leave it alone!

Sorry chao$, but Lil Suzy's remake of the original "Take Me In Your Arms", although has a cool new beat, I still tend to go for the "Planet Rock" orignal background beat better.

"Without You"...one of George Lamond's greatest hits was better off left alone...the original beats and violins made it more appealin..not the 1998 remix...But I still think George Lamond is still one ffo the best Freestyle Artists! Freestyle AND Salsa!!!

Original's better! Just look @ KFC original recepie chicken! The original Pringles! (Hmmm...I think I'm gettin hngry...) The original Transformers (for those who used to watch cartoonz)...The original Mustang Convertible!!!

and and and...I'll get back to you on more Freestyle remakes I thought BOMBED...LAterz Freestylerz!!!!!!!!!!

Ok i just wanna clear something up "Take Me In Your Arms" by Lil' Suzy and "Without You" by George Lamond...are NOT remakes...they are merely REMIXES.

How can they be remakes, if they are sung by the same artist who originally recorded them? 🙄

hehehe...Helllo again ART! So, we disagree on Freestyle "remakes" too? I thought our difference in concepts on the Lakers and the past championship Bulls teams were enough, hehehe. Now...to CLARIFY this comment of mine...let me show ya man...THEREO said " artists making remakes of freestyle songs? or even the same artist doing an updated version of there big songs?? ...Sooo...i did Included both remakes and remixes...others who responded also did the same...🙂 .

Now to Thereo? Yeah! Original Tranformers rule! But a couple of years go "Hasbro" decided to "remake" them into computer animated Robots In Disguise...Then they went to Beast Wars and/or Beast Machines, which pretty much did nothin for me..LOL

FreestyleSurge, what's up bro? Well i did read what Thereo said in the first post...how he was asking about remakes as well as "updated versions", but check this out:

FreestyleSurge said:

This statement that you made, led me to believe that you thought of Lil' Suzy's "Take me in your arms" as a remake. It's all clear now, and i see that you actually meant to include "Take me in your arms" as an example of an updated version (remix) and not as an example of a remake.

Yup they still had the same names...and correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe Optimus Prime was turned into a gorilla...*LOL*

what do I think of freestyle remakes???

actually i dont think about them at all they all suck!
if it ain't broke don't try to fix it!
altho collage was "ok"or shall i say "bearable" with his remake of FIREHOUSE's track LOVE OF A LIFETIME, i do not condone remaking wack 80s and 90s songs with a synth beat and a freestyle artist singing them...
I have a question for those so called self absorbed know it alls out there ...
how come a cheesy 80s/90s song remade by freetyle artist is considered freestyle BUT when a freestyle artists composes a love song or "slow jam" then that's all of a suden nt classified as freestyle...please explain..(this should be cute..all the way down to these fools "counting beats") blah blah
gotta love controversy!😕 🙄

transformers kick ass! i have all the cartoons on video! i cant sand the new stuff.

look at what pepsi tried to do when they remade it? cystal pepsi?

coke.....new coke?
