Hi John,

I thought the Freestyle mix was rather decent (although a bit short). I'm not really into House music, so I didn't even bother listening to the 3 other versions on the 12" for more than 10 or 15 seconds each.

Don't know about it. Is it new?
I'd love to play it on the mix show as I do with all new Freestyle that comes out.
Where can I buy a copy?

Thanx,
D.J. Paradise

I'll have to check Tower. I've been seeing so many new 12" singles all throughout the store. It's like the singles section is Robbins Ent headquarters!

Rhoq:
I hear ya man but ususally all I need is one freestyle version and then I can appreciate the house or original versions as well.

I haven't heard this track yet. Gotta check it out if its on Robbins.

DJ Paradise, you'll play a song without even hearing it first just because its new freestyle ? You said you'd love to play it, but you don't even know if its good ! What if it sucks ???? LOL. You're not serving the purpose if you're playing new stuff if it isn't good. Just my opinion 🙂

Sup Truth,

How are ya? Thanx for your opinion.

Yes, i would play it regardless if i have not heard it.
Why?
Who am i to decide what is good?
What might me so so to me, might be awesome to another, and vice versa.

There will be songs that I will not care for but will still play it. Thats what a D.J. does... Help peeps who need that first step. And if it isnt good, the peeps will let them know which will make the artist do better on the next one. Atleast thats how I feel 🙂

I support everyone.
Everyone needs a start somewhere.
But it still needs to get heard somewhere.

Peace

DJ Paradise, I respect your opinion, but i totally disagree with you. A DJ just can't go ahead and play anything (which is why I probably never heard of you...no disrespect). He's gotta stick to a format. PLUS, he must play music that is good enough for radio. You just can't throw any song on the radio. It must deserve that airplay. Because if I heard a song on a mixshow that sucks, not only will I say the song sucks, I will say the DJ sucks for playing it and for not having a format. A dj's job is more than just playing any song for people to hear. I know the freestyle scene is pretty bad nowadays, but it doesn't mean DJ's must be desperate and play any new song they get their hands on, even before listening to it. Thats just plain wack.

Let me 1st apologize to John Parker for doing this on his post.

Thats cool Truth but....
Not that this is the place for this but just wanted to let ya know that I used to do fm radio years ago and then started doing this internet radio. Thats where the difference is. This is internet radio which has no format nor rules. I said i'd play it and if peeps didnt like it, then the artist would know. Ya know, like a make it or break it. It wouldnt stay on a weekly playlist. Thats why i love internet radio. No playlist.

2nd, just for a quick F.Y.I..
Ive been doing this for over 21 years, have opened up for almost every major Freestyle artist, been mentioned in D.M.A. Magazine 5 times, did comps for Metropolitan records, remixes for several Freestyle artist and about to sign a deal with a label for a series of mixed comps (which I cannot disclose the name yet).

I dont need to prove myself and take comments or critisism the same. Just wanted to let ya know that I wasnt some new kid .

Thanx for the comments regardless and if ya like to continue this topic, i suggest a new thread, lol, cool?

Peace and take care Truth !!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're happy DJ'in on the internet, thats cool. But isn't there a new law in effect preventing from broadcasting on the net ? Also, being mentioned on DMA a few times isn't much to brag about these days...lol. Best of luck to u, and u have my respect

Yes, there is a new law, and im paying every month 🙂.

Lmao, lemme rephrase that DMA thing.. I was mentioned when it was written by Steve O Neil and Bernard Rosenburg.

Wasnt braggin bro, just lettin ya know I didnt pop into this thing yesterday.

peace and the respect is mutual.......

I like the "Freestyle Club Mix" is bangin'! The beat is enough to make me buy it. I didn't really like the song or her voice though. But the beat is dope! I wish it was extended a little bit though. More focus on the beat, less on her voice would've made it a little better to me.

From the mix that I heard, the song has a strong old school Miami feel to it,the vocals seem to overshadow the beat a bit too much but the vibe makes it danceable...most freestyle songs lack that nowadays..A break beat remix would be great for this song.

I just bought the cd single. I like all the mixes. The CP and Freestyle versions are my favorite.

I just bought the single in FYE today in the Roosevelt Field Mall. I like it a lot....but the freestyle versions are definitely my faves!!

I have a question for John Parker if he reads this...John, are George LaMond and Cynthia still on your label??

Randi (FreestyleGal)

Awesome track and Kathy is a hottie! www.kathyphillipsmusic.com

A freestyle mix in the breakbeat genre is featured on "Freestyle Heaven vol. 4" from SPG music Canada www.spgmusic.com It is titled TMR mix. It is too bad the tmr and the trancey DJ comet remixes of I wish were not included in the US pressing on Robbins/BMG.

Freestygal,

We are working on finding Cynthia material for a new single right now and I believe that technically, George is still on Robbins for his english releases (not his Latin/Salsa material), although I haven't heard anything new from him since we put out the "Hits & More" cd.

As several of you have mentioned, the song was originally released a while ago.. not sure exactly when but late last year I believe. It was on the "Euro Freestyle Invasion" compilation by SPG in Canada. The new mixes on this single are pretty good.. I like the Euro mix a lot, but my fav. is still the freestyle mix. The single would have been much improved if it had a B-side as well, especially since the song is pretty old (in Canada at least). Whatever happened to B-sides?

Thanks John!!! I met George and Cynthia at HMV a few yrs back and everyone that was there with them from Robbins was great!!!! Keep up the great work with all that you do!!!
