orig twin tone/angle rec version of running is straight up electro. the '86 tommy boy remix was given the freestyle touch.

whats on your mind club mix imo by far has to be one of the best dance tracks of '88. pure genius from beginning to end.

Information Society's song "Running" was always played at all the Freestyle clubs I had ever went to..

HEARTHROBS
Studio 54
1018
La Mirage
LaMore East
Emerald City
Copacabana (When it was @ 61st between 5th and Madison)
Red Parrot
Palladium (14st)
Hunka Bunka

SO I guess that makes it FREESTYLE!

Totally agree with you dude. I have their 1986 vinyl and it includes "The Nest Mix", the same mix that blew the Cover Girls to success (Show Me-"The Nest Mix"). The "What's On Your Mind" vinyl of 1988 has a "Little Louie Vega mix", compliments of House with Freestyle. It even features the Latin Rascals. I think that Information Society in the 80s was Freestyle-they had their own unique sound such as Nu Shooz's "I Can't Wait."

only because was played in Freestyle clubs and have remixes in freestyle, or be produced by some freestyle artist don't make any artist be Freestyle, only THAT song/remix/version is freestyle, that it...

if Latin Rascals remix a Michael Jackson's song into a Freestyle groove, the song will play in all the clubs, will have anything turn to freestyle in the single, but this don't mean that MJ is freestyle.

so if someone remix Elton John or even Queen into freestyle groove will they be freestyle artists? I don't think so...

buy an InSoc Cd, and you will change your mind! 🙂
