Ok, I know there have been arguments here as to whether or not Information Society is freestyle or not, but I wanted to let all of you know that they will be featured on VH1's Bands Reunited this Wednesday night at 10 PM. Tonight's episode features Scandal and tomorrow is Vixen.

Also, starting Nov. 15 at 10 PM, VH1 is doing a special called Retrosexual: The 80s. Lisa Lisa will be one of the commentators.

Cool they werent freestyle but did had a few freestyle songs so i love them anyway. I cant wait to watch it.

Information Society is one of my favorate groups, when it comes to freestyle. I'll be checking it out, thanks for the info.

P.S. - Remember "Think"?

they were doing the club circuit at the same time other artist like safire, tka, etc... were getting popular -

they had some of the best music out -

They weren't even trying to be freestyle, but the fans made it that way. What ever works, it moved me!

I like the music, I don't care to get into anything else! This is about music.

It's a trip how songs that aren't Freestyle actually get classified as Freestyle by the fans. (ie. Planet Soul "Set You Free", Afrika Bambaata "Planet Rock", Robin Fox "I See Stars" & Plummet "Damaged". Except for "Planet Rock", these are Breakbeat tracks and "Planet Rock" being old school Electro Hip Hop.

IMHO, most of Angelina's songs "Release Me, Without Your Love, etc.", Tora, & other songs alike, aren't Freestyle either. Just good ol' Dance music.

I'm not saying that these tracks aren't any good, cause I love 'em all, just not Freestyle.

To each his own I guess.

WOW! cant wait.. I knew it was them they mentioned.... Me and my bro were debating wether or not Info Society was Freestyle... lol

THE EARLY INFO SOCIETY TRACKS WERE DEFINATLEY FREESTYLE. THEY EVEN MADE THERE OWN SAMPLES AND SHIT. GREAT GROUP

They where going to perform at Copa this thanksgivin but one of them had to back out. Damage by Plummet is not a freestyle track but it is very similar to freestyle. If you ever hear DJ X of PLumit mix most of his mix are very freestylish songs. Also Freestyle was and always is Dance music. Angilina is a freestyle artist.

Find him!!! Get him to the COPA on the 24th....What's up Pete? How have you been?

FreestylePete, I hear ya about freestyle being dance music, of coarse it is. 100% to the fullest. But, it's a sub genre of dance music, I just feel that the Angelina tracks that I mentioned above do not fall into this catagory. I know she has freestyle tracks but the ones I mentioned above, IMHO are not freestyle. I guess you could call me old skool, but there's quite a few people that agree with me on this one.

Does "rock music" sound like it did in the eighties, no. Neither does hip hop or any other genre of music. Why do we want a genre of music that never changes. Freestyle music, to me, has evolved into artist like Angelina.

I like the program, but Information Society never struck me as a Freestyle group, but they are included in the Tommy Boy "Freestyle Greatest Beats" which was compiled by Joey Gardner...who does know his Freestyle...

Yeah, you made a strong point. Strong enough for me to listen to it again and agree with ya'll. At the time of "Release Me" I was also into alot of other styles of dance music & I always catagorized her as just straight up 'dance music' like the Artie the 1 Man Party stuff and the "I'm a Dreamer" track, know what I mean? Probably cause when it came to Freestyle, I was always into the old skool elements. Silly me :silly

I had to agree with ya'll tho' cause I'm all for progression.

:angel
