Sup y'all,

I might sound kind'a :nutz for sayin' this, but I've always had mad respect for the dudes behind the scenes in the studio layin' down the hits, even more so than the singers behind the mic. For as long as I can remember I've gottin' crazy hyped listenin' to my fav freestyle jams pumpin' out of my ride and getttin' these funky ideas about being in the studio with these CrAZy cats. The very same dudes with the mad skills that have created the classics I"ve gone completely gaga for all these years. Hangin' with the big boys in the studio throwin' down the hard thumpin' beats, crazy as* edits, beautiful synth melodies, orchastral hits . . . ahhhhhh man, forgetaboutit!!! dsmoke

Here's my nod to the freestyle gods . . .

Hey TaniaCosta, what's goin' on girl?

Could you do me a tiny fav? Plz don't refer me as "b1ccef06", LOL. That was a boob on my part when like a total idiot I messed up my membership intro a couple of years ago. Looooser eh?, LOL. If you're comfy with the idea, just call me "mykey" :stoned

You're absolutely right about Chris doing amazing work. He's a great example of how all ethnics especially Greeks
(like Chris), Portuguese (like me), and Italians (like most of my boys) have only mad love for freestyle right along side Latino's.

I totally respect Chris because he got into the game was the scene was pretty dry (circa 94/95' ish). At the time he just graduated from the Music Conservatory and boom, dude drops his first single "always thinking of you", and it's a friggin' radio hit right out of the starting gate. Follows up the success of his first single with an album "Always thinking of you" along with his sis Alexia. The album flys off the music store shelves, but the duo get burned by the wankers over at Metropolitan who were distributing the album at the time. So instead of gettin' bum rushed and taking it, he decides to dissolve his so-called "relationship" with Metro and kick start his own label, studio and distribution.
With a fresh start, Chris comes out bangin' with his new label "Odeon Records". The first couple of singles off his freshman album "Planet Freestyle" non-stop party mix . . . killed on radio. A co-production with his sis Alexia and Adam Marano "How could you leave me" spanked the TOP 40 POP list on Toronto's premier dance radio station Z103. Still on fire with the success with the first single, dude drops another winner. His second single off his new album "Forever" sung by his sis Alexia, dominated the air waves throughout the entire summer.

Ahhhhhhh man, those were the days that Toronto came in stompin' like Hulk Hogan on the freestyle scene . . .

* TIAMO RECORDS [Ben Calcaterra & Micheal Rucska] came out fast n' furious with . . . Joee + Manuella
* CAPTAIN RECORDS [Marc Pompeo] came out ready to fight with . . . VLA
* MAXIMUM RECORDS [Atilla Uyanik] came with guns blazing with . . . Frankie Boy
* SYNTHETIC RHYME RECORDS [Daniel Bijan] came out with . . . Jason Rago

Those were the days baby . . . :dancingb

ANGELINO . . . what's shakin' bro?

Totally feelin' ya on the Willie thing. Although him and I have had our differences, I've got only mad respect for him. The day my boy Bernie B Rosenberg dropped Willie's "Freestyle Parade vol. II" into my system, that was it, only crazy luv for this cat ever since.
As a matter of fact, he has that kind of effect on most of my boys. Every time there's some dude rollin' with me in my ride for the first time, the freestyle thing comes up, it's always that . . . "yo, dawg, freestyle's totally wack, you put that sh** on I'm gonna bounce".
Me, at this point I'm doublin' over with side splittin' laughter, cuz I know what's comin' next. I don't say a word, just casually reach over to one of the biggest guns in freestyle's arsenal -- "Freestyle parade vol. II", pop the CD into the dash, and BOOM!!!! . . . when the hammer drops, and the dude next to me hears those hard wicked Willie V beats thumpin' on the 12's, and Poze lettin' loose like nobody's business, forgetaboutit!!! . . . I've just converted another freestyle hater into a freestyle freak :freek

Here are some of my Willie V. favs . . .

The Moment - POZE
Can't take it any more - WILLIE V
One true love affair - WILLIE V
Don't turn our love away - LORENZO D'LAN
Only You - PURE PLEASURE
