It would be very interesting to see a new trend in the evolution of Freestyle music. The other day I was listening to Shannon's "Let The Music Play" & "Give Me Tonight", both remixed by Junior Vazquez and a few other top remixers, and I feel as if this could be a positive alternative to your typical "Freestyle/Bass" remixes that you usually find on CD Maxi-Singles, etc. Seeing that the majority of clubs today won't dedicate 10 minutes worth of Freestyle music, I can see them playing a 10 minute house/trance remix, of lets say, Cynthia's "Change On Me" or Lisa Lisa's "I Wonder If....", totally remixed to cater to the club crowd. If people like the remix, they are going to go out and purchase the single, which would include the original Freestyle version, therefore exposing people to something new. There are so many remixers out there today such as Thunderpuss, Junior, Hex, Tony, Armand, Tracy, etc., possibly waiting for someone to come to them with an offer to remix a "classic" or a current single. If the opportunity is there, take advantage of it. If money is the issue, shop around. There are so many talented students/individuals (DJ's) who work out of their basements who are eagerly looking for a breakthrough in the music industry that would happily remix a track to your liking for a few dollars or even for the credentials. Shannon's singles were remixed to perfection and it definitely gave new birth to her music that came out almost two decades ago!

Also a lot of dj have remixed the old school Freestyle classic like Luis damon" should Never Let you go", George Lamond" Bad Of the Heart", Coro" Can't let you Go,& Where are You Tonite & More.To Spanish Reggae!!!!!

Yeah, no doubt, I remember that dancehall-ish remix for "Que Te Vas" was hot!

More recently, both George & Cynthia released some krazy hot house mixes by Giuseppe D. on their last commercial singles back in '00. The energy on both their remixes is BANANAS!!!:stoned

There usually is an alternate dance version on the singles. I personally prefer house, trance is so boring to me.

MARKLUVZCYNTHIA- One of the reason's why I purchased the CD single to Cynthia's "I Never Said" was because of the House remixes that were included. Also, because I was familiar with the name Guiseppe D and heard some of his work before. I happen to like th remixes. I have one of Gioia's current tracks remixed by, who else, Junior Vazquez. It's hot.

Yep, that mix is dope. It's just like 9 krazy-azz minutes of absolute MADNESS!!! Giuseppe D. has become a name I look for as well. You should check out the 'Hothead' version of "Lately". And of course there was "Angel", which is the ONLY song I like by Collage. lol
