Boston- The City That Comes To Life After 2 a.m.-
Over the weekend, I attended the Puerto Rican Festival here in Boston and I invited a few friends of mine that were non-Latino, but enjoyed the Latin culture and so they wanted to go.

Never again. I didn't even enjoy myself, nor did they. I was almost to the point where I was ashamed that I even brought them to the festival because of the way these kid's and teenagers were acting. To say they were acting like animals is an understatement.

My friends were waiting in line to go on one of the rides and this disrespectful little bitch (non-Latino) tried to get in front of my group of friends and she shoved her way through. She didn't say excuse me and she didn't even ask if she could possibly move up the line. So in turn, one of the guys asked her a question and she responded with some derogatory statement that included the word "phuck" in it, then responding with "fag" or "f****t". So at that point, my friend was like "listen bitch, you can get in the back of the line now. I don't care who the phuck you are or who you're with". I so wish I was there because I don't take that shit from no one. Nor did they. And all four of them gave her what she needed, some feedback on her attitude. So at the point, she calls over some dude and one of her girls, trying to start some shit. Unfortunatly, her people didn't back her up and that bitch felt stupid and left.

A lot of dudes were being disrespectful as well. I was there with my best friends wife and she looks good, tight body and everything. Obviously, when you see a dude with a girl you assume they are together. We had ignorant dudes talking shit and trying to mack up on her and trying to talk to her and it got to the point where I was like "Yo, she's with someone, relax." I mean, if these people are going to act like this, then I'm going talk to them in a language they understand.

I feel like today's youth are just getting worse and worse. When I was 17-20 years old, I never acted like that. I always had respect because I gave respect. A lot has to do with the parents and lack of parenting. A lot of the time it's all taught at home. Teenagers are going to emulate what they see at home. The way the parents speak to these kids are the way the kids are going to speak to others.

Are there any other factors in Society that you feel contribute to the way kids or people act in general? Explain.

These kids need thier asses kicked like we all have gotten. Damn, libirals in this world made it worst for all of us. There's a big difference from abuse and dicipline. And when we touch our kids they know all they have to do is say boo to the school or whomever. It's crazy.

Parents are a major factor for sure.

Liberals and the discipline or abuse thing is another.

Then there's what they listen to on the radio which goes back to the parents I believe. These kids think what they hear is reality. They need to be taught that it's fantasy.

My friend's son, who is 12 yrs old, is into the rap thing. No big deal there, but when he came home tryin to think he was this lil gangsta and talkin to her like some lil hood rat...he got a azz whoopin! :lol Needless to say he doesn't act like that around her anymore. 😉

That's what I'm saying. HE does need a little whoppin. But because of these libirals some parents are afraid to do the whoppin. Thinking the cops are going to arrest them for abuse.

I think it all has to do with parenting.

I always had my lil attitude around my friends when I was a teen but I was always respectful to my family & my elders because it was how I was brought up.

I would curse with my friends, never at home.

Bad parenting, this kids today have no guidance & they live in a lil gangsta fantasy world.

Sorry you had a bad time 🙁

You know, I hate to admit it but I've always tried to think otherwise, but I feel that it's two factors that have a lot to do with it: Music & Parenting.

I don't care what anyone say's but rap music, overall, is brainwashing these kids. It's a culture that's bringing the youth, down. Everything from the appearance to the "hip-hop language", is so wrong. Plus, they are too ignorant to separate the thug life from reality. Then it comes back to the parents. So many kids today overpower their parents, and it's a damn shame.

My parents used to get their asses whipped when they tried to get out of line. It should be no different today. If that's what these kids need, go for it.

But Dayer, yeah I had a bad time, but you know, sad but true, I kind of expected it. I wanted to go there and be proud of my culture and open my friends up to it, they enjoyed the food & music, but it was a bit overwhelming.

LOL @ boot camp!

Latinocop...he got that azz whoopin! 😉 2 of his uncles are cops and let me tell you...they would have and have done the same thing. :lol

As for my friend...she's 5' nothin and about 115 lbs. Her son is almost as tall as she is but she don't take no ish from him!

And it's funny really...I just had this conversation with a friend of mine on Saturday night. About how most of the kids these days have NO DISCIPLINE or RESPECT for themselves or others at all. And as I told him...back in the day, all my dad had to do was raise his voice and I was :sosad LMAO! It's still like that today.

CarlitosWay you touched on a subject that has been bothering me for a while. For that I thank you, I am sorry to hear about your experience bro at the festival. You sound like you got your head straight and I am sure the people you call friends do as well. As such I know they realize that the behavior they witnessed isn't representative of Latinos any more than the behavior of some ignorant white people.

That said... You used a very powerful word that carries with it a concept, "Respect" I remember growing up and the old timers would see my generation of youth being stupid and shaking their heads and saying the world is going to hell!

I know I am getting old (34) cause I catch myself doing the same. Kids today have no fear and LatinoCop hit it on the head. That fear disappeared when the liberals said we coudn't discipline a child physically. It's gotten ridiculous. It's a three sided equation... Fear, Respect, and discpline! take one away and the formula is broken

Peace!

thats how it is for me im shorter than my 13 year old newphew and when he gets out of hand he thinks he is the one in charge but i say wrong try again and sit your 5 dollar a$$ down before i make change lol no i dont say that but i do tell him to chill

I hear that Krystal I have been over 6 feet tall since I was 16 and always over 165 - 180 all throughout highschool. I come from a broken home raised in Miami after my parents divorced in NY and I have to tell you my Moms is 5'2" and to this day the ass whoopin she laid on me I couldn't think of raising my voice to her let alone a hand cause i would immediately have a seizure I would be so scared!

But that fear that harvested the respect I have now changed my life and taught me something... That they should never use metal for belt buckles!!!

Thanks, bro. Great to see that we have the same mentality on such a controversial subject. Thanks for the feedback.

Same here! I know I say I'm daddy's little girl and all, but growing up and still till this day, if he starts to raise his voice, I KNOW I'm in for it! And my mom, I've been taller than her since I was about 9 or 10, but believe me, height has nothing to do with it.

I know I'm not too far removed from my "youth" days, but I notice a difference in how it was when I was 16, 17 years old and how most 16 and 17 year olds act now. Granted, it may only be a 7 year span, but still. I'm not saying when I grew up that evryone was a respectful teenager, but looking back at my teenage days, I can definitely notice a difference compared to today's teens. It's scary to think that their going to be the ones, in a sense, running things. I hope they mature and grow out of it, but still, the way they are acting now is no way to be.

Hell, when I was growing up My dad was quick to let us know he brought us into this world and he would have no problem taking us out!!
Since he was an only parent he didn't have time for anyone who wasn't respectful. Today unfortunatley some parents rather their kids learn lessons from the streets, than take responsibility and teach them wright from wrong.

WHooop that asss...

All so true.

How can one not blame music? When music is heard from miles away. Music captures an entire audience and moves them. That means they are inspired. Now when one is inspired they seem to follow along. Well messages in rap songs like smoking weed, being a player, being a thug etc etc they follow as well.

Rap music needs to drastically tone it down so much but that crap sells.

Uncaring parenting on the other hand mostly has to do with today's youth being explosive.
