I agree totally with Victor. These freestyle artists, cause that's what they are, should recognize where they came from. If doing that style of music was so bad, why did they do it for so many years. Rockell, signed to Robbins Entertainment, distributed by BMG, a new freestyle artist signed to a major label. If major labels aren't looking for freestyle acts, why did she get signed?
It is still possible to get a major deal but I think labels are saying out with the old, in with the new. Sonique, for example. Universal Records and platinum selling artist. Many people say her song wasn't freestyle, but we all know the truth. There is still hope. Don't let these old FREESTYLE singers tell you wrong. K7 had a couple of freestyle cuts on his album and he went platinum. Why. His days with TKA. So don't tell me that freestyle hasn't done anything. It is all a bunch of bulls**t!!!!!!!

IT GETS ME FUSTRATED TO HEAR ABOUT THESE ARTISTS COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW BAD OF A VIBE THEY GET FROM THE WORD FREESTYLE. Let me tell you something this women is constantly singing her freestyle hits in any club that she can get into. She hates the word freestyle yet any flyer I see featuring her says THAT word! Last time I saw her perform she couldnt remember the words to all the songs. Ugh! this was 2 or 3 years ago at club Amazura. so she was like Ooh I forgot the words. I'm at the front and she sticks the mike in all our faces and we sing the song for her!!😱 C'mon girlfriend you dislike freestyle I dont see you making money otherwise. She thinks she can do better? She's not even known for Toro Mata, a house song she came out with in 2K. She'll perform that song but it wont be included in the flyers. She just needs to get off her high horse. Humph!🙄

i didnt know so many old freestyle artists hated freestyle so much now. whats so wrong wit freestyle??????!!!!!!

but i read an article on India in Vibe magazine not too long ago, where she mentioned her days wit TKA, her work relationship & divorce with Little Louie Vega, and her success with freestyle music in length. i didnt get tha impression that she thought she was wasting her time wit freestyle at all. in fact, it seemed tha total opposite. she seemed very proud. i still have tha article.

I spoke to Angle on Friday and i had told her the responses she has gotten about her interview. she was rather shocked. "if they cant accept that we were TOP 40 at one time, NOT FREESTYLE, then i dont know what to tell them. its the truth. many other artists feel the same way that i do".

It puts limits on your work. When we first made it big with our first single "SHOW ME", there was no "freestyle". we were TOP 40/Dance. All our songs were top 40. only until years later did people classify us in freestyle. that really puts a strain on your carreer. your days are numbered when they start to classify you. they consider FREESTYLE a dead issue in the industry so it is very hard to break out of that stereo type. it is very hard to do work in other fields once you anything with any catagorized music field. I dont consider our music freestyle at all. [/B]

key words "at one time" remind her of that, cause that was a time when freestyle was part of top 40.........

Hola Fellow Freestlyers: See this is an interview worth reading and I think Angel is so right about the whole "Label" I mean why have a title I mean I love Freestyle but it is Dance music and it is Latin Hip Hop and I think that automatically people hear freestyle and think "crap" when in fact it should be people hear freestyle and think "Hot" Freestyle 4 Ever!!!!!!!!!😉
