I saw some of President Bush's speech last night. I have to say, that was the most uncomfortable thing to watch last night. Bush looked like he was unprepared, he was dodging important questions about the election and he was not clear about the plan to finish up with Iraq. I had to turn away, It was just hard to watch. I'm sorry, but Kerry is got this election.

What did you guys think about Bush's speech?

I was thinking the same thing Mike ... :rasta

I have to disagree with you. While Bush might not win in the Northeast and California, I think everything in the middle is up for grabs. Lot of bible belt republicans. He'll certainly take Florida again if they still have those chad machines. While I agreed with his handling of the situation post 9/11, his administration hasn't impressed me lately. They're more concerned with gay marriage and "cleaning up" the airwaves than with national security and the economy. That's because the Republicans choose to pander to the religious whack jobs in this country (the Chritian version of the Taliban). Also, this Iraq situation is turning into another Vietnam. You gotta unleash the full might of the military in a situation like this. If your not willing to do that, just get the f out. You can't have guys getting killed everyday, while acting as police.

I don't know what speech you were watching. He was very prepared and he said clearly that the commanders on the ground will get what they want. The paritsan press tried to make the comparison to Vietnam but that was a stretch. There is no comparison and there is success going on in Iraq despite what the partisan press is reporting. There was about 3 or 4 reporters that were making statements with their line of questioning, but if you were really informed you would know what the deal is. He showed very much that he is leading and not going by idiotic polls to govern. He didn't give the partisan press what they wanted because it was clear that they were out to embarrass him, and trip him up. It was very easy to watch and it was no big surprise what certain members of the press were out to do. If you all out there look up his voting record in the Senate then you will conclude that he's not the man for the job. That's unless you take what the partisan press reports hook, line, and sinker.

Freestylekidd, I agree with you on many of the comments you shared, but I do not think Bush will be re-elected. Not that I'm happy with any of the other candidates, but Bush has to go. Iraq was not the antagonist of 9/11, Bin Laden was.. and where is he? Still running around the desert making plans with his taliban. Why with all the "intelligence" (and I say that lightly) we have, can't we find 1 man? I'm not saying Saddam should not have been over thrown.. he was torturing his own people and they lived in fear of his sons as well. But all of our troops should have been looking for BL who was the mastermind of all the devastation. I lost loved ones that day.. all I want is to see BL hanging from a pole...

There's a little correction you that you either missed or you conveniently left out. The chad machines you mention are no longer. Did you object to those voting machines when Bill Clinton was elected twice with them? As for Bush pandering to "religious whack jobs" as you put it is complete nonsense. Yet, you make no mention of the fringe groups that Dems pander to. You also failed to mention the better news coming out of the economy. Here is another thing you also fail to mention. The FCC fined the Howard Stern show over one million dollars back int the late 90's. The common denominator here is that in the 90's George W. Bush wasn't president. Things that make you go hmm.

Once again this was has no comparison whatsoever to Vietnam. How do I know this? Because by the president's own words last night, if you were listening, was that the military commanders on the ground will get what they want. You might want to go back and check history on what went on with the Vietnam situation. I can spell out the differences if you like.

Sorry to hear about your loss. If you keep up with the news there are still troops in Afghanistan on the hunt for BL. Whether or not Iraq was the atagonist of 9/11 doesn't hide the fact that Iraq supported terrorism. You either want to rid the world of terrorists or you don't. Pick a side.

time woulda been better spent sucking on a dirty tampon than listening to that a$$.... this moron is the leader of the free world... it's really embarrassing!!! :barf

I saw it and have to say , People are too hard on him. No one can begin to comprehend the Job this man has. Now I liked Clinton alot more and want ed Al Gore to win the last election, but DAYUM! The way our society has become, so Ignorant and balsy , I think Bush is a Liar and A Mo Mo too, But ALL of our Presidents were!! I mean do you relize the minute he was elected, He had to go to War?? We never had the oppertunity to see what he can do for us, cuz hes been tied up with the war on terror since he was elected. It aint his fault, the timing was bad. but yes , hes finishing his dads dirty work, no doubt.

I did not conveniently leave out anything ColombianHarry. I did not know either way. That's why I said "if they still have those chad machines". One doe not have to read between the lines there.

ColombianHarry said:

No, ColombianHarry, there was no controversy there when Bill Clinton was elected, so I did not object. You're right there, Hermano
Please... Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, ect... are not Democrats

ColombianHarry said:
Yet, you make no mention of the fringe groups that Dems pander to.
Yeah, Al Sharpton really should not be taken seriously, I agree

ColombianHarry said:

Yeah, the economy is booming, dude! I forgot to mention that.

Yeah, but now they want to hold individuals responsible for whatever the FCC deems indecent. Trouble is, there are no clear FCC rules on indecency, only the 7 deadly words (which Stern never used, in the cases that he was fined). Also, Stern wanted to fight them in court, and let the courts rule on what is indecent, but the FCC was not going to let Infinity Broadcasting (Stern's employers) buy or sell radio stations if they took them to court. That was under the Clinton FCC. Now, the Bush FCC (under the leadership of Colin Powell's son) is undertaking a witch hunt where individual broadcasters will can be fined up to $500,000 for anything they deem indecent. Do you know how this threatens freedom of speech? Do you care?

Oh, then it must be fact. Sorry.

And I was.

And what is that? The military has to be taking the offensive, not sitting around being cops. A city like Fallujah has to be leveled. We do have B1's, B52's. If things are not going to be done right, then get the f out.
Last time I checked History, and History was my major in college, this was the same situation. A military force, acting like a police force, getting hit by guerillas, taking lots of casualties (55,000 dead in Vietnam). If you're going to go for it, then go for it.

Ave Pues Mijo, Y que viva Colombia!

Harry...I am of course FOR ridding the world of terrorists.. and as I said above, there was a need to go into Iraq...my problem is, the real threat to our well being, the man who had the financial resources and the hatred and religious fervor to convince his people that WE are their enemy and should be destroyed, has yet to be found! I support our troops, (my nephew is in the Navy) and Thank them for the sacrifices they make to allow us to live in freedom. Obviously there is no easy answer to all of this but my heart would feel passified if Osama was captured.

i have to agree. he didnt know what to say when asked what he tells the familia of all the soldiers who died cause of the war. he was stumbling for words. i think maybe he was trying to look human but instead looked like a idiot.

I have to admit...there were ALOT of uh's and um's and repeating of what he said in his opening speech. Seems he was avoiding some point blank questions.

On a side note...I had to LMAO when he called on that last reporter saying he hadn't heard from him in a while and the reporter came out shootin! I was like OH SIT! Bet ole George regrets calling on him! :lol :lol :lol
