i cant believe you guys are the ones who fate has picked to save freestyle. llllolll.

yo you guys spend more time arguing about love work life and anything else under the sun than you do supporting freestyle. you guys def need a true club general one who has been tested in battle. in many places like the tunnel culture club webster hall and many others.

you guys need someone one to lead you guys out of this darkness. of mediocracy and failure.

you guys are fast becomming the Bad News Bears of music.

i keep telling you people. that coming here and typing on this computer isnt gonna bring back freesstyle. its gonna be bought back or supported through feet and wallets.

we gotta put boots and the ground and attend events. and get ourselves away from this machine.

and meet more often???? you know there more to life than our kids. and our husbands and wives.

Oh My God Yes. there is life outside the house llllolll.

and there are hobbies and things we can do at least once a week. and one of them is going to events? small ones.

not for the sake of meeting. im really not excited to meet anyone really. my days are as long as anyone elses.

but im truely serious and excited about supporting the music i love and grew up with.

so why cant we make an effort to follow these singers where they go?

if not than i know you guys are full of baloni

tony g is the only guy that i see? who truely serious about support. when i think of support. i think of tony g.

when i think of casual interest i think of you guys.
I AM GOING TO TAKE EXCEPTION. I GOTO PLENTY OF SHOWS EVERY YEAR WETHER IT IS A BIG COPA SHOW OR JUST A ONE ACT PERFORMANCE.
RHONUC29 HOW MANY SHOWS HAVE YOU SEEN JUST THIS YEAR ALONE?

I CANT GET TO JERSEY OF CT SO I AM LIMTED TO LONG ISLAND, NYC, BROOKLYN QUEENS AND IF POSSIBLE WOULD GOTO THE BRONX IF I COULD

your right ed. seconds after i posted this i saw your name and said ssshit i forgot you.

you do go to alot of shows way more than me. by far. but im willing to go.

thing is 2 or 5 o r 7 people wont make a difference for the artists.

only 20 or 30 !!. maybe 40. id like to see 40 go !!!

but one thing i notice over and over again. is that there really no leader in the freestyle world. no commander. you think it be jack g. or chuck. or you ed? or somebody.

no body !!!! and then people dont really attend.

2 big problems. people just come here jerk around. and say one day. then take off.

thats great but i wanna see actual support from our people.

you know. in the amount of time you guys come here post post back post again post.

about your kid. your boyfreind your wife. your this or that.

You could have been in a train to any club in 45 minutes. we have to learn how to leave or castles if we really wanna support this music.

im all for planning an aggressive fall attendance.

I totally depend on this site for my freestyle information....because I've totally lost faith in KTU here in NYC...the first time I heard "I Can't Change Your Mind" by LisCyn was at the Copa show back in May and when they were talking about how it's been getting airplay, I was like WTF? cuz I just don't listen to KTU anymore...I mean I'm not hating on the 80's-90's freestyle at all, but why am I gonna listen to songs on the radio when I have them in my CD collection? And then what completely ticks me off is when an album is supposed to be released thru certain outlets and guess what? they're not there. The websites help though....I think that if certain stores dealt with specifically freestyle music it might alleviate things somewhat...but that's wishful thinking

what you guys need to do. is go to events. and stop posting and typeing and talking about life or anything else.

go to events. then buy. then come home and post? in that order. then wed see what weve been talking about for the last 4 years.

till then youll be posting forever. if thats what you want? then great. your right on track

lllllolll.

Some of us actually have lives beyond freestyle rbonuc...you make it sound so simple...some of us go when we can and other times we gotta decide what's more important: shelling out money for cds and events or paying that rent and those bills and stuff like that. Shit happens.

hold on a moment brklyn

i know some us have lives. but lets not get carried away. i know our peers like it sound like they have lives all the time. thats fine. but lets be real. no one here that i know of? is the president of the united states. and no one here that i know of is the CEO of a major company.

and no one here has to have lunch in paris then fly to japan for a briefing. so please???

i hate when my peers and my generation give that "i have a life" shpeeel. they say that to everybody.

truth is

look you guys go home like everybody else and after 7 pm your day is prob done. and you got at least 15 or 20 hours a week you can do other things.

you have kids jobs things to do we all do. but we have to sacrifice a little bit? one thrusday.

if everyone here could scarifice one day out of the week. we be in business. cuase thats 50 people. 20 on thrusday 20 on friday. once every 3 weeks?

any how the point is we have to cross the bridge between casual support. and real support.

some how?? some way.

it seems like were on the other side of the bridge and we dont wanna cross.

we need to start crossing that bridge. and start going to events. like ed? and like

i said before i dont wanna go. im 35 . and ive met alllllll the new people and all the new personalities i ever need to meet in my life llllllolllll.

i went clubbing for 10 years.

but? this music is very important to me. Very!. and im willing to go with you guys 2 hours.

on a thrusday night???? once every 3 weeks? untill this picked up steam.

what do you think?

Look Brklyn was right in everything he said goign to a club to see an act isnt dgonna do shit for the genre moeny to back there projects is,its nice to catch a show and show the artist support but beyond that it isnt going to get them the airplay they need. I went to EVERY DAYUM show weekend after weekend alongside Naya even when she wasnt performing we went to show fellow artist support I think we saw every act 20 times over. I worked the shows for Angel when he held them @ Bliss and LQ's sold tix and asked for nothing in return became very good friends with a lot of artist who know have my luv and support. Personally for me my day goes a little something like this I wake up @6 bathe cook breakfast make sure my family is taken care of before i leave come to work from 8:30-4:30 get home around 5:45 clean cook bathe my son bathe myself spend some time with my son put him to bed clean up some more and study this is my routine weekends dedicated to my son so I hardly have time for nothing else and at the end of the day why am I going to go to a show where I am going to see the same artist I have seen 20 times over and listen to the same material, there are but a few acts I will see over and over again one is Naya, K7, Safire, tonasia, & coro other then that ive seen them to many times and have heard nothing new from them. Now if new school artist got more love and it was the acts I was feeling then I would make an effort but at the end of the day my home life and work life take priority over going to a club and I wont be a hypocrete and attend an event where I dotn liek the music of the artist. I support in my way but I dont let it consume me there isnt to much stuff out there that I like and I refuse to go to see teh same show all over again I went to the Copa and my next event is my bestest friends event on Saturday.

Well, if this was a perfect world, hey, everyone would have the spare cash to go to the shows.

However, with the majority of people here being parents, their first financial responsibility is to their family, not buying the latest cd, or going to a show.

chuck i know i said im done with this subject but i have one more thing to say. we all log in here for the common reason that we LOVE freestyle music, however, many of the responses i have seen have declared freestyle to be DEAD, DONE and GONE. my whole point is that why should we (the people who love the music) settle for that? we can all show our support by buying the music, calling and writing the radio staions, and even writing the trade magazines like "The Connection Magazine". if they got 5, 10,20... letters from freestlle fans insisting that they do a cover story on our music, artist, producers that could be a foot in the right direction. you don't have to spend money or take time out of your life to attend shows to support freestlye but every little bit helps. how cool would it be to see our freestlye artist on billboards in the subways for KTU? can you imagine seeing Cynthia, Caleb,Coro... on these billboards? hot 97 does it for the rappers. hey why not? anything is possible. support comes in all forms and if we really love the music there are many ways we can make some noise if we all pulled together. the thing that makes me mad is when some of these people say its gone and will never be the same. we don't want it to be the same. we want it to be bigger and better.

Payac HOT 97 receives monies for paid advertisement from all record labels and marketing firms....NOTHING is for free.....The Hip Hop artists that you see on these billboards are not being put up there for free...

once again my point is missed. hot 97 is advertising themselves in those ads. they are paying for those billboards themselves. my point is what if freestlye artist can be featured on radio station ads? wouldn't that be great to see? we can get there if the fans of the music take action and get heard. getting heard means getting to the powers that be by voice, mail, email whatever.
