On Friday, June 17th, 2005, a civil court judge in Martinez, California ordered New York Times best selling novelist, Terry McMillan, to pay her gay husband, Jonathan Plummer, spousal support and attorney's fees, effective immediately.

Yea I read that and she has to pay him 2,500 monthly in spousal support. THat was a good book and movie lol

That's f'd up for sure...I mean I can understand if he became gay along the way but if he was gay from the get go that's just plain wrong.

There's more to this story than meets the eye.

Did she marry him, and then he said he was gay, or did she marry him knowing he was gay?

Well, more props to him for finally accepting himself and coming out... but DAYUMMMM!!!!! If he knew and married her anyway and now he's getting SPOUSAL SUPPORT?? I think that is GRIMEY!!!

He told her that he was gay right before Christmas 2004...Terry filed for divorce in January.

Yea so she did not know he was gay when seh married him he only recently told her from what the article stated if I am not mistaken if he knew and didnt tell ehr then thats wrong but if he becams like Brk said then the law is the law

That is so not right... but then she must have gotten married to him after a short time of dating cause for her not to realize SOMETHING? Love is blind yo... for real...
Sorry, but if it was me... I would have Kicked his A$$.... fine, you're gay, then leave and go on with your life and I wish you well, but to try to get me to SUPPORT YOU??? AWWW HELL NO!!!!

Terry confronted him about several calls to a "male friend" in the Jamaica...as it stands right now she has to pay him $2,000 a month in spousal support until the case goes back to court in October, as well as his attorney's fees, which amount to about $25,000...she also claims that he married her just for his green card and that he embezzled over $200,000 out of her bank accounts.

Yo..I hope she wins and he gets locked up... He should be real happy in jail... won't have to pay no bills so he won't NEED any money.. and he'll have all the boyfriends his bootay can handle....

If she can prove that he married her just for the green card, immigration can revoke it, send him home and restrict him from having a green card ever again.

I don't see why he shouldn't get spousal support. Men have been paying alimony to women forever, regardless of whether or not they cheated or if they filed for divorce. She's the breadwinner, so why should he not be entitled to some support? A lot of times women want what's coming to them, but when a man flips it on them, they freak out. As they say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander...

well nobody "becomes" gay along the way - it's not like converting to Scientology lol...a lot of people have those feelings but don't act on them for a long time because they feel they have to live their lives a certain way to please others, Some end up marrying and using other people in a very selfish way, knowing they are really gay, but only caring about what their needs are and not letting their wife to be know (I have a friend whose father did this) or sometimes they are users who decide to marry someone to get a green card and apply for alimony down the road. Who knows. All I know is that people don't wake up gay all of a sudden and you can be sure lil' Jonathan has been riding the Jamaican Beef Jerky trail for far longer than Christmas 2004
