imagine if you will, that the tables are turned around and you were judged as fans. Would you have what it takes to be a "FAN" would your "Fan"ship be worthy? imagine the pressure some of you might go through just to be accepted as fans? it's not easy in any case.

Imagine being judged because your too fat, small, not pretty enough, don't have a killer body, your nasally, you sound different, your style is not up to par.

Artists get attacked way too much. and I know the difference between crticisized and attacked. I just want to make a point, artist are just like you, even more normal than some of you!.lol

so my question is DO YOU think that you as a fan has what it takes to be a "FAN"

to love your favorite artist no matter what they bring? whether or not they look good or the new sound is different?

Yes freetsyle fans are a loyal bunch of fans, trust me I know!.lol but just like you are loyal or once was, they're are many out there who will accept these artists new sound, and a new fan base begins.
 
Im proud to call myself a loyal fan 🙂 I always said...Johnny O did his thing he has given us Freestyle (4 albums!)...if he wants to sing a different genre then so be it...I will be there to hear it. 😉 When I hear India on the radio singing spanish I get so happy! Thats the star who sang "Lover That Rocks You" and "Breaking Night"! AWWWW!!!

I'm so happy India has a slammin career singing spanish etc. Lamond too. They have given us a joy to our hearts with their Freestyle songs in the past that todate are still heard around the world by us fans!

But you have your leeches :crap You have your fools who want to suck suck suck. They don't think about other things...they think about only themselves.

I went to a concert back in the very early 90's here in San Deigo. It was hosted by Jammin z90 when freestyle was a regular play. The artist there where;

Vanilla Ice
Johnny o
Cynthia
TKA
DINO
En Vogue
Candy Man
The guy who sang LA RAZA
Troop

I've also seen groups at the Oh' Laser Club in Tijuana;

Sweet Sensation
Will To Power
Dj EZ Rock and Rob Base
Young MC.

I also saw Coro doing promos here.

Thats about it. If I had the Bank I would come out to NY to see all my Favs play, unfortunately at this time I can't but it would be a dream come true to see my boys TKA, George Lamond, Johnny O, Coro. My Girls; Cynthia, Lisette, Nya, Lil Suszy and so-on.

So all of you in NY, you have to appreciate what you have because you could be out here in San Diego where freestyle is a bike race.

I'm a big fan...and whatever the future holds for me as far as getting my stuff on KTU holds, everything I do I do for the freestyle community first and foremost, giving you guys what you want and doing the best I can to keep the sound fresh and alive...thats my way of giving back as a fan
 
To be honest, i really dont care what an artist looks like or what their background is. I just like the music. If the artist remains out there making the music, I will be a fan till the day I die. If I were an artist and my "fans" were criticizing me about my weight or the way I look, I wouldn't care, those are not my true fans. True fans care about the music and they also care about the artist. If you dont like the fact that that same artist has begun to sing another genre, etc. Let them be, they're moving on to whatever they like..there's no need to criticize.
 
Naya very well put sweetie. It is hard to please everybody, but remenber some of us Artists are fans as well. I will not say much, but but honest to yourself and respect yourself as well as for others like you!
 
I am proud to say that i am a huge supporter and fan of my favorite singer SAFIRE.

I have all her cd's, and have a huge collection of anything related to SAFIRE.

I have followed her career since 1986 - there is something about her that makes me proud.

I think the difference is between those that are fans of the artist & those that are fan of the music.

If you are a fan of that artist, & you buy a CD that has 12 songs on it & you only like 10, you don't say "damn he/she sucks!" you say to yourself "I don't really like these songs but he/she has a great voice"

If you are a fan of the "music" & you buy a CD that doesn't remind you of 1986-1992 you get pissed off & sell it on ebay.

If you are a fan of the artist, & you see them perform & they are not wearing an outfit that you approve of, you still enjoy the show, because you respect the artist & it is what INSIDE that counts.

If you are a fan of the "music" you go home, log onto CF & write a 2 page post on how so & so looked fat in her catsuit. Probably due to the fact that you, yourself would looked like SH!T in that catsuit & have a crappy voice & would have never had the balls to make even ONE song.

If you are a fan of the artist, you respect their decisions. Whether it is to take time off, not perform in a specific concert, try a new genre. Whatever it is, you realize that the artist is doing what is best for them, much like you do what is best for you & your family.

If you are a fan of the "music", you get insulted. You feel cheated that the music doesn't sound the same. The sound no longer reminds you of paleds or l'amour east. It doesn't give you that 86-92 feeling & you insult that artist & sometimes even consider yourself no longer a fan!

But the flipside is, you will be in your crib listening to their old stuff, wont you? Then, how are you not a fan anymore?

I think the problem here is that we all (myself included) need to take a step back before we post. I mean, in real time (face to face) sometimes it is hard to control your tongue, but here, you think of what you say BEFORE you post it. So, maybe we should all try to be a little bit more courteous to our fellow artists AND fans.

We need to remember, no freestyle artists in our cf familia are bling-bling millionaires, they are here because they love freestyle & their fans. We should be here because we love the music & respect the artists.
