In my opinion.......Basic marketing principles state that when marketing a product, it is always wise to cater to as large an audience as posible and doing so in the most economical way available. Also, every marketing principle warns against false advertising or deceptive advertising.
1. If there was a freestyle remix, the single would almost certainly sell an additional 3 to 4 thousand cd singles. Now I don't know what JParker's financing budgets are for a single, but paying a producer $1000 for a remix that would have made him an extra $8000 in additional revenue is a no brainer. And then this additional revenue could be used to further market to their intended dance and euro communities.
2. If he was hoping to get support from Judy's past fans, then he should at least give them something they can listen too. If not, then why bother promoting a Dance single in a freestyle forum. Neglecting to provide a freestyle mix can only serve to alienate her old fans. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the label is advertising the new song on hip hop forums or merengue sites. Why would they waste their valuable time and energy?
Providing a freestyle mix wouldn't have hurt Judy's new single in any way.
So, I propose a simple remedy. Petition the label to release the accapella to the freestyle community. I don't know about the other producers in this forum, but I have always wanted to work with an artist of Judy's caliber and past acheivments. And if doing a remix for FREE.....I'll say again.....FREE, was a way of attaining that dream, then so be it. It will be my way of giving back to a freestyle community that has given so much to me in the past.
MY 2 Cents......or 3...LOL
