In my opinion.......Basic marketing principles state that when marketing a product, it is always wise to cater to as large an audience as posible and doing so in the most economical way available. Also, every marketing principle warns against false advertising or deceptive advertising.

1. If there was a freestyle remix, the single would almost certainly sell an additional 3 to 4 thousand cd singles. Now I don't know what JParker's financing budgets are for a single, but paying a producer $1000 for a remix that would have made him an extra $8000 in additional revenue is a no brainer. And then this additional revenue could be used to further market to their intended dance and euro communities.

2. If he was hoping to get support from Judy's past fans, then he should at least give them something they can listen too. If not, then why bother promoting a Dance single in a freestyle forum. Neglecting to provide a freestyle mix can only serve to alienate her old fans. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the label is advertising the new song on hip hop forums or merengue sites. Why would they waste their valuable time and energy?

Providing a freestyle mix wouldn't have hurt Judy's new single in any way.

So, I propose a simple remedy. Petition the label to release the accapella to the freestyle community. I don't know about the other producers in this forum, but I have always wanted to work with an artist of Judy's caliber and past acheivments. And if doing a remix for FREE.....I'll say again.....FREE, was a way of attaining that dream, then so be it. It will be my way of giving back to a freestyle community that has given so much to me in the past.

MY 2 Cents......or 3...LOL

An Additional 2 cents........

How about this.......Take a vote on who everyone in Clubfreestyle would like to see do a remix of the song such as Willie Valentine, Edwin Ramos, Santana Twins, Pete "DOS" Othman, or any of the other new and up and coming freestyle producers and have them do a remix. Get some edits done by Paradise, Dave" The One" Mendez and other "Edits gone wild" editors and release a promo cd single. Then see which cd single gets more play or request. What's it gonna cost.......$500 bucks.

It's up to you, the freestyle fans, to voice your opinion to the labels. If a label is smart, it listens to it's potential customers for feedback on how to better it's product. It's not to late to right a wrong. Let JPaker know your dissatifaction with the single.

Let Judy know, you her loyal fans, are unhappy with the fact that she has forgot her true fans. JPaker must remember, the dance market is very fickle now and loyalty amongst those fans last until the next hot Dance track comes along.

When the dust settles and the single loses the airplay it gets, she'll still have her die-hard fans listening to her freestyle remixes. Care to wager?
I know I still pump "COME INTO MY ARMS" and "NO REASON TO CRY" in my car. Even after 12 years from it's release. When's the last time you pumped "Work it to the Bone" or "Lover who rocks you all nite" by India. Both were hits back in the day, but I think the answer is obvious.

Give us our Freestyle mixes..................WHAT HARM COULD IT DO?

I don't disagree

I too.....like the track. It's not a great Dance track but a good dance track. But I bet I would listen to the song more if there was a freestyle version somewhere on the cd.

And I bet other fans on this site would agree. I can't see the harm in having another remix if it helps to broaden the target market and listening audience of the song. If his goal is only to target the dance market, then why have so many different versions on the cd single? Wouldn't 1 single version serve this purpose?

As someone elluded to elsewhere, this song is a good album cut, but I think a questionable single.

get me the accapellas..i'll have a ROCKER with SUBSTANCE and RESPECTABILITY in a week!.......it'll just take a month to get anything out of cory's pockets..lol...but i'm game...JParker reach out to me.

hate to bust a bubble you aint going to see to many of our old shool favs doing new freestyle tracks thast just an opinion but face facts these artists wants to get there music heard on the radio

Realities of the music industry........

Back in the late 80's and early 90's, record labels could bank on making money from selling 40 to 50 thousand copies of a single, today the main purpose of a single is for promotion use. If a label breaks even on the cost of pressing the cd single they are estatic. But since labels only sell a few thousand to mainly dj's and die hard fans, they go in knowing they will probably lose money.

Which is why I can't understand their logic behind not producing a freestyle remix.

Here you have one of the most famous, if not THE most famous female freestyle singer, who has around 10,000 die hard fans around the world. Why would you not take advantage of that fact and gaurentee the additional sale of an extra 2000 to 3000 CD singles? As I stated before, this additional revenue and sales could serve to meet their overall agenda of more spins by:

1. The extra income could be used to press up more cd singles.

2. If enough copies where sold, it might register higher in Billboard singles sales.

3. This would then be picked up by Radio MD/PD's as a sign that there is a growing demand for the song.

4. Hence, more spins on radio. Their original intentions.

Then there wouldn't be dissatisfaction amongst the freestyle community. Who ever advised JPaker on not doing a freestyle remix advised him wrongly. They should have know that we would express our discontent on the chat rooms.

But there is hope, as we speak, I have hired a crack team of ninja infultrators to steal the highly sought after accapella DAT from JPaker's maximum security office. Those vocals will then be available to all on the World Wide Web. Is this what the world has come to?.................LOL, I wish.

Yo ED!! lol $ 500 bucks , man thats what its come to! Remember when tracks used to go for 12g's !! lol.........

The reason why there's not a freestyle version is because they don't want to be associated with it in any way. They are ashamed of freestyle. We shouldn't be giving them all this attention anyways. Let's give the attention to artists that are actually making freestyle music.

Who do you think? It was Judy Torres... from READING HERE, she does not want to do freestyle anymore.

We shouldn't give it attention anymore...what's done is done and should have been done in the first place...

btw -- this is the new sound of freestyle. who ever says it doesnt sound like freestyle is wrong. judy didnt sell out, she just is keeping with modern times. freestyle is not going to sound like it used to back in the 80's. it's more like dance music now.

i like this song. i hope she makes more songs that have this same feel.

My two cents...

My two cents...

If you people don't think there is more than meets the eye in this one you are sadly mistaken. I haven't heard the track, but I feel the motives. Remember there are always motives.

Judy has a radio show on KTU. Adam, say what you will, has made a ton of records (some you may know of and many you probably don't) that have charted all over the place. Think about it. It's called opportunity! They are using each other for different things. That is the bottom line. If you feel that the two aren't hand in hand, then you're sadly mistaken. Judy has the rep with KTU (the listeners, the md's and pd's) to get that record on the air. Even occasional rubs (spins). I’m sure KTU is more likely to add a house-style record before a freestyle record. Robbins would then have an opportunity to sell product, get (free) radio play and what not. Adam gets on the radio with another production (up'ing his value and pull) and voice. And if Johnny B is still at the station (and/or is still down with Adam) he’ll pump it in the mix. This shit goes hand in hand.

Remember… it’s not about the freestyle, it’s just business!
