TORONTO, THE CLUB'S AND THE DANFORTH!!!!
What do you guys think about the new bi-law in toronto stopping smoking in most places??? Simply put i think that the government is playing with peoples livelyhoods. alot of the restaurant/bars/clubs/cafe owners have all of there money and lives in these establishments and to effect their business ANYWAY without knowing what the outcome will be hurts them their families and everything that they may have. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK??

Well, personally, it doesn't bother me, cause I don't smoke. However, I do think it's a stupid law. If people don't like smoking, then don't go to the bars, pubs etc... There's plenty of other places to drink w/o smoking. It should be upto the owner of the establishment to decide if he/she wants cigarettes in their place.

oh, don't mistake me the law doesn't bother me cause i smoke just the opposite i don't but i know a few people that own resturants and i know alot that work in them and if this move hurts those business's then those friends and relatives are going to be in trouble and with nothing to fall back on and no money if this hurts them what are they to do??

sheesh, soon everyone has to leave earth to have a smoke, heheh..

Personally, I think it's better like this. I don't smoke, and I hate it when I see a friend smoking cuz it's just not good for them and also because I really don't want to smell any of that sh*t. At least now I can go into a cafe in woodbridge without coming out with lung cancer and not having smoked 1 cigarette. 😀

i agree with you there Eesh, when i get home at nights i smell like an ashtray and i hate it but i still think the business should make the decisions and not the government. and what about all the people that are 17/18 alot of the places turned to 19 and over what are they to do search for a place to go?? I know the Danforth is all over 19 except for the restaurants (which is cool no young peeps) but where are all those kids now at home??? How much business is lost cause they can't go out anymore.

Freak, you said it! We can't do sh@t in this city. In my last years at high school there were not sports, teachers were on strike and they wouldn't do any extra curricular activities becuase of desputes with the Guv, the government has to much say and doesn't listen to the peep and they want more money on top of what they are getting now!

just stupid!!

I used to be a regular smoker for 5-6 yrs but now I am a social smoker...not even, but I feel this new law is just stupid. Smoking is not just a habit but for some it is a lifestyle that they enjoy living. What I think the guv should have done was enforce better ventilation and seperation of the smoking area. I know a few places that really have great ventilation and both non-smokers and smokers are satisfied. As far as the bars and clubs are concerned they should just remain smoking with respect to better ventilation. That may not be the answer but its better then controlling ppls lives and businesses.
That's my 2 cents so takecare every1

Move to a city that let's you smoke. JK Yo I think that it is all good. How are you going to smoke in a restaurant when people are eating? I think that is straight rude. In a bar it's like whatever, but in a restaurant youse best behave.

there is always a time and a place to do everything i agree i hate when people smoke when i eat but i don't believe that a restaurant has to be non smoking to make people happy i know alot of people that enjoy a cigarette after they eat and they should be able to do that, why should they have to go outside?? just respect others and we should have that right. And if this stays who is to say that next the government says drinking is bad no more drinking or anything else for that matter?? Yet mariguana maybe legal? what's up with that?

Ok kiddies,

I know this no-smoking policy bites for us smokers, and yes we have to take into consideration the non-smokers, but close your eyes and remember back to a time about almost 3 yrs now, Toronto tried the no-smoking act, remember how long that lasted until the uproar begun, well, smoking was once again permitted, so It just might happen again, just ride it out and see what happens!!😱
