to all those who think they need to abandon freestyle, check out the success Safire/Cynthia have had. one of the most requested songs on KTU, now on the playlist! also getting spins on Z100! and it's only getting started! let this be a lesson to the artists who have abandoned freestyle or thinking of it. you don't need to leave freestyle because it doesn't work, you just need to make a good song. artists like TKA, you don't need to leave!
 
It's not mostly artists leaving, it's these corny DJ Stations that love Heavy metal and R&B and little gay groups like NSync and Backstreet Boys.

It's that. They are so caught up in that. Britney.."STRONGER". GIVE ME A FLYING BREAK!

If that is supposed to be an inspiring song, than what do you call George Lamonds, Safire's, and Cynthia's songs then? Because I know how many people can relate to those lyrics.

We need class, the radio stations need class, we need to gather a poll from THE MILLIONS and say listen, what is hot and what is not?

Look at this garbage song. "I GOT HIGH" pleeeease!

It's a shame freestyle is not being played in many radio stations all through out the world who can play it. It's a shame we have people saying, "that is old, that is old school"

How the HECK can you catergorize music?!? You can't, music is music, music is supposed to inspire you, it's there for you to enjoy, not for you to determine where it belongs here and there!

And PS: I seen Britney curse at her fans, since when do you see a freestyle artist doing that?

Enigma I agree w/ you 100% ...My teengage sister that is only 15yrs old.....sings along w/ it...and now my daughter that she is 6 yrs old is also singing it...and thats called music.......what kinda of example is that, I mean I am no conservative guru.....but that song needs to get taken off the airwaves...thats telling kids thats is ok to do drugs....and yes some people do their share of weed. but to promote so bluntly like that is pathetic....just check one of the lyrics...I didnt go to school, cause I got high,,,HELLO....what is that telling kids, go get high, dont go to school.....and let me stop cause when I first heard that song I wanted to puke I called Jammin 94.5 the station here in Boston, and spilled guts...out....WE need to get freestyle back in the scene......Most props to Cynthia and Safire....I hope this song crosses over......and generates a buzz in the dance community that freestyle never left.....
 
cafreestyler , let me explain something to you that you might have not known. the original version of "CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN" is NOT FREESTYLE, no wheres near it. the version you hear on the radio is the "freestyle version" which came out later. thats why it is not on the cd. it is possible the freestyle version will be on the cd single and more than likely it will be called "radio version".

now, with TKA, the version you hear is the album version. alot of people may not think its "freestyle" but the single just may have a "freestyle" verision on it to satisfy us freestyle fanatics.

AMEN! Personally, promoting such garbage is idiotic. ANd I pray to god they don't legalize weed. Or else, good bye schools and smart students. It's a drug, it's not healthy, it kills brain cells, and it turns your lungs black. Period.

But this thread is not about this.

It's funny, here you have this ugly black mofo singing that crackhead song, (I don't understand how America could hire this guy and say, he has talent, cause he doesn't. That is not talent, that is garbage.) and in a mere month or two, it's forgotten, almost if not, forever.

But, take some freestyle songs, and people will remember them quickly!

Such a beautiful song "Louder Than Love" and none of these diks that work in the film business, never gave it light, yet we get these stupid songs that die out in a month or two, incorporated into the film. 😡

Did I not post a post a bit ago (yeah the reaaallly long post) about how freestyle will still work? It's just about making a good song and having big bucks. I knew I'd see a song like this make some noise. I could see it coming after having worked in radio, there is that demand out there if it's a good song and there's lots of money to push it. I'll feel even happier for Safire & Cynthia though when I see this song make it to other markets besides New York, since New York has hella freestyle fans when compared to other markets.

I myself am not a fan of remakes, but there have been many freestyle remakes, none of which have made any noise (recently).
 
Brianmei too true there. All those remakes 🙁 But I'd like to hear Sa-Fire & Cynthia on the radio so I wish them well with this one.

if many of you didnt understand what i meant before, when cynthia and sa-fire first released the song, it was not meant to be freestyle. it was TOP 40.a mix was later made for the freestyle genre. SO, THE TITLE OF THE THREAD IS BS.

This thread is no different than some of the others. Cafreestyler is new and deserves some room I think LOL. We all aren't as good at this posting stuff as you are.
 
the original, if many of you attended the CLUB OHMS concert with CYNTHIA & SA-FIRE a few months ago,would remember that the song they performed that night is not the same as the one being played on the radio now. other versions were made since then and the one we hear now was one of them.
 
I AGREE WITH ENIGMA HOW CAN THEY EVEN PLAY THAT RETARDED SONG BECAUSE I GOT HIGH. OR EVEN MAKE IT A HIT. THATS BECAUSE THIS NEXT GENERATION COMING UP IS SOOOOOOOOO IGNORANT. ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ABANDONING FREESTYLE ( WE KNOW WHO THEY ARE NO NEED TO MENTION THEIR NAMES) ARE JUST LOOKING TO MAKE A FAST BUCK. IT ALWAYS TAKES THE WORLD TOO LONG TO PICK UP ON A TREND AND THEN WHEN THEY DO IT THEY KILL IT. LIKE BYW THE TIME THEY PICK UP ON FREESTYLE AGAIN WE WILL ALL BE SICK OF IT BECAUSE THEY WILL FIND ANOTHER PLANET ROCK BEAT TO KILL IT FOR US. LOL 😀
 
CASE NOT CLOSED. THE SONG SA-FIRE AND CYNTHIA MADE WAS TOP 40, NOT FREESTYLE. SOMEONE CAME IN LATER AND REMIXED A FREESTYLE VERSION, AFTER THE LADIES WERE DONE.
