When are you people gonna realize what the radio business is ALL about ??? I'm tired of making EDUCATED, WELL-THOUGHT out posts, because most of you don't (can't) understand them anyway. They just get IGNORED for the most part.

I've posted NUMEROUS times about the inner workings of how a song gets airplay but no one seems to understand it. I've talked many times about the current and past states of freestyle and radio till I'm blue in the face, but no one seems to get it. So, I'm NOT going to explain it again -- but the one thing to remember -- it's NOT 1988/89 anymore -- SO much has changed since then in the radio industry.

The only posts that get recognition on this board are the POINTLESS, IDIOTIC ones that everyone can respond too -- it's really sad to see such a GOOD forum going to WASTE -- yes, that's my HONEST opinion of this site anymore -- what a shame. I only post when I feel something needs to be clarified or if someone needs information -- but the majority of the time, I shake my head just READING this board and looking at the ineptness of the majority of the people who post ! I almost hate to post because I know people can't even comprehend what I'm saying and it just gets pushed to the bottom of a thread -- when the FEW people out there actually can APPRECIATE it.

There's some people from this site who I talk to on a pretty regular basis who CAN attest to this -- and together out of the 1400 or so members (whatever it is) ... maybe the 12 of us (e.g., Johnny Budz, Fernando, Rhoq, and a few others) can understand, respect and respond to each other's posts, because NO ONE ELSE CAN! How can a site with SO many members have such a SMALL amount of people who actually have a CLUE as to what is going on with our favorite music ???

What else can I say ... it won't matter anyway !
 
well if u were refering to me about the lamond singles...then please let me know...cause i reallynever have read a post from you about that...not saying u havent posted it but i just never read it!!!! but believe me i will understand it!!!!!

I am a personal friend of SAFIRE and have known her for the last 15 years she's been in the business and way before that. I have seen her go thru her ups and downs of this sometimes vicious business. i have seen how the labels she's been on have tried to change her image, her music & how she fights back to keep her integrity. After so many years, she is in control of her self and no longer the puppet that so many of the early freestyle artist were at one point.

Safire/Cynthia & their creative team felt that "can u stand the rain" was good enough to be remade.

Remakes have been done before by many singers in different genre's, it happens, SO WHAT! Had it been a bad remake, i would understand the publics discontent, i would of been the first to tell SAFIRE. But it is a good remake, and i give credit to these 2 ladies for a job well done.

Victor, i am 34, and i have follow freestyle since the beginning, i have seen many shows, hung out with many of the producers who helped create the great sound, and seen many artist come and go. we both ride on the same boat, if u know what i mean.

it is a !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ed up business but when the very fans throw negative thoughts then u are proving the bigwigs right! that freestyle music isn't good enough for radio.

after the downfall of freestyle, it's very difficult for an artist, even the most popular freestyle artist to get airplay. so when u combine a popular artist with a popular song, that just might make right mix to reintroduce a artist to radio. trust me SAFIRE has new material, but the only way to get her new tunes to radio is the support of the fans. there's a reason for everything.

my girl is a very hard worker, and she takes pride in the work she does and she wouldnt release anything unless she felt it had a chance.

But it can be discouraging when people are knocking your music down simply because it's a remake. It isnt a good enough reason.
 
Listen Dj Dez....I wouldnt be surprised if your talkin bout pointless threads, that are probably made by me (yes, I do have threads that can be pointless, but still turns out to be a fun and enjoying conversation). This board is not all about basic info.....You need to have a little fun once in awhile. So i make up threads to see what other people think, to joke around, to discuss the matters and what not when it comes to my favorite artists and others favorites too. And just by makin up those "idiotic" threads (if thats what your calling them) I got to know many people from this site, based on there personality, and just by them and me discussing freestyle. Peope like Chao$, Martini, Toni, TyBless, Kenny, and manyyyyy others. Now, i get what your saying, and by now you think we are probably not hearing you out, but guess what, I get what your saying, but it hurts to know that people out there are calling my threads "idiotic, or Pointless"....But hey, at least i got to say what i had to say....If people disagree with me....its all good, but just remember, this site to me is # 1 because we get to discuss many things bout freestlye, bout artists, that i have never talked about before and that I am curious of.....So thanks for hearing me out.....Pe@ce

sandman you are right...but u have to understand the fans to, there are just so many bad remakes, u know???? i have thought of that reason and only that reason for making a remake....but what are you going ot do...hopefully people will take to the song...i mean they are still playing if i had the chance by cynthia 🙂 so maybe it being cynthia and safire together, something can happen



and victor you are right when u say "self proclaimed experts"...i mean come on now we are just giving our honest opinions...but maybe we all dont know how radio stations work...or maybe we just dont care...all we know is that we love freestyle and that we want it back...so maybe yeah we are idiotic and pointless for that!!!!! but u do have people on here that think they are the voice of god and u should listen and agree to what they say!!!!!

Oh.....and before I forget what this thread was really about...

This new duet by Safire and Cynthia, i have to say is great!....Its a new sound. Its quite diffrent from many others, especially from there other songs, Im glad that they are comin back....Hopefully we hear more by them and others...Right people?
 
Victor ... you ALSO have good posts -- I enjoy reading posts LIKE yours -- because they are INFORMATIVE -- if you will notice, I responded to your post under the ARTICLES section, because reading your 'freestyle history' thread was very entertaining. Sandman, you belong in that category as well. And I'm sure I missed a few other people who have GOOD contributions to this site.

I can tell right away when I read someone's post just how well educated they are and how much they have to 'bring to the table' ... so to speak.

To toni/crystal, and anyone else -- as for my remarks about 'senseless and idiotic posts', I am NOT referring to anyone IN PARTICULAR -- I just mean, when people start threads about something stupid or something that has an OBVIOUS answer, or when someone just gives an opinion that is TOTALLY off-base or just plain WRONG, yet, the POSTER thinks they are RIGHT. I understand that some posts are made just to lighten things up, and usually they are in the RIGHT section of the site too -- normally I just ignore those anyway. It's the posts where people THINK they know what's goin on regarding a particular subject/situation, and they have NO clue, or they just proceed to ATTACK the person that MADE a comment or statement.

Crystal -- no need to be so DEFENSIVE -- remember -- I'm not out to BASH anyone -- just stating my feelings on some of the 'things' that go on at this site that irritate me !
 
We seem to finally be having a good conversation on this board, wheather we agree with each other or not.

victor!!! i am sorry i knew that song wasnt going anywhere...i did request it to...so i guess he got two requests, lmao!!! but i just thought there were better radio quality songs to release...if they wanted to release that at a later date fine...i dont think they should have started the releases with that one, it kind of started it off on a sour note...u know i love lamond and everything he does, i like earn my love, it grew on me...but its just that...its a hardcore lamond lover song!!! LOL u get what i am saying...to me the only bad song lamond did was loves contagious ahhhhhh...what were they doing there....but for them to gain exceptance it should have started with lately or maybe more than words can say!!!!
 
I heard the song and thought it was ok....just ok.

it will probably grow on me in a few weeks or months (if it gets played on the radio that long) this is not a complaint or an idiotic post,...it's MY opinion<-----it may not count for much, but I still have the right to express it......they (SaFire/Cynthia) could've made something more special, or at least I was expecting them to. From what I read, some fans seemed to have enjoy this single very much,...who knows if they request it enough it might become #1 or at least a popular song.

When I heard it live up close and personal 3 weeks ago (ohm) I wasnt feeling it. But hearing it on the radio Cynthias voice was slammin' its a nice song but not one that I will buy immediately. and just one note can we respect each others opinions just cuz someone says something we dont like we shouldnt turn it into a huge fight we can disagree but it shouldnt turn ugly and sarcastic. Hey Elear, you couldn't have been more right!!! I don't care how blasted I get for this but....I did not like it at all!!! Enough with who's singing it and look at the song!!! Sounds like a typical new club song to me...not freestyle...And yes, I HAVE been into freestyle since day one..period...I'm 29..not 16!! I hate when people jump on the name game wagon....Just the title alone told me it was a bad idea....I know everyone wants to say it was the S#$@ cause of who sang it....but be REAL!!!! Well, blast away if you want...it's cool cause I know I'm being realistic!!! P.S. Support is important but you can't support anything...cause "anything" is what will be created and excepted....

What we will have to do is get this song exposed more online and check out more opinions.

As soon as DJ Johnny Budz posts his mix in 'The Booth' we'll do a mass mailing again and ask the people who didn't hear it to give it a listen. Just to get more opinions in here...good or bad.

THE SONG IS WEAK....just plain and simple....the song itself is a dumb remake..those 2 legends should have been given a great ORIGINAL soung to remake...everyone that i spoke to that heard it are VERY dissapointed and I hope the remixes are better!

And to DJ Dez- YEP, I HEAR what your saying, and the more I get into conversations like this, the more I respect you and Victor. Because believe me, me and Vic got into it a little...RIGHT?...lol. Well, the only reason I said what I had to say was because I felt that I was one of those people you were talkin about. (Im the one who had made the George and TKA post, the Question for Tybless...etc)...And I kinda guessed it because you never ever answered my posts, probably ignored them for all I know (im only referring to what you had said about if its pointless, u dont even bother)-at least something like that. But anyhows, I just wanted to say what i had to say. Im not mad at you for speaking your peace, its all good Dez. And im sorry if it seemed like I was REALLY pissed off there...But to tell you the truth...I wasnt THAT mad...😎 🙂
 
Hey Jack why dont you put it up in the Smash or Trash section to let peeps hear it....

I cant really say I loved the song or hated the song cause I was away from my desk pretty much the whole time it was on. I only caught like a quick taste. So I cant really say much on it. But, I would like to hear it in its entirety again....
