Atleast This New Skool Song Sounded " ALRIGHT "
A Song With 2 Legends Doin A Duet? I Would Have Expected More.
STOP WITH THE REMAKES Man...Damn Bro
Be Original...
And Guyz...Stop Gettin Blinded By Thier Names. Ooo Its Cynthia Ooo Its Sa-Fire...Woohooo..Yeah yeah Big Deal...Both Are Sweet As Individuals. I Have Nothin Against Them. But What Happend To " SA-FIRE " And " CYNTHIA " Who They Were And Came From Got Lost Somewhere...🙄

What the hell is wrong with some people!! Everyone is always complaining, "there's no new freestyle, always the same ole stuff"

so what it's a remake!! it was a great job done by SAFIRE & CYNTHIA - I WILL SUPPORT IT, NO DOUBT!! and i'm positive it will receive radio support - this is the best quality freestyle music we've have gotten in YEARS!!

You know we need more POSITIVE support from the "so called fans" if freestyle is to make a comeback -

im sure either of these girls could go in a totally different direction with their music, but there love for freestyle & their fans has kept them in this genre.

SAFIRE & CYNTHIA YOU BOTH GET THUMBS UP 😀

I thought the song was slammin!! ok....i know i heard the song b4.......for the first time @ CLUB OHM in NYC w/ CYNTHIA & SA-FIRE singing it live.....it was even better on the radio!!!
it was a totally different version than what they did on stage. i though alot of you guys (and gals) would of definately liked it. everyones entitled to thier opinions. i liked it because it was not "old school" sounding and it had blended thier true voices along with some great, new beats. if you like the song, call KTU @ 1-800-245-1035 & REQUEST IT!!!! dont let this one pass you buy!!! we can make a difference!! 🙂

Sandman, i couldn't have said it better myself! Think about it, you only read the complaints on this board. Can you imagine some of the email I get about people complaining about freestyle !!??? lol

If people on this board who consider themselves "freestyle lovers" don't support new freestyle, how do they expect the outside world to take it seriously. But yet, the same people that are complaining today, will be ripping radio apart in 6 months wondering why they're not playing new freestyle.

Just last night at KTU, while i was playing a set of all new freestyle in my mix, people were calling KTU saying "i don't know any of this music, i wanna hear "Spring love"...so ya can't please everyone..lol...I play new stuff, they complain to me, i play old stuff, they still complain..LOL 😀 🙂

they shouldnt be complaining .....at least freestyle get played on the radio.......in ny

Personally, I LOVED the song. Cynthia and Sa-Fire's vocals sounded better than ever and they did a great job...besides the lyrics, it sounds nothing like the original. You cant ask for more than a brand new freestyle song from two legendary freestyle divas....whether it is a remake or not!!! You go girls!!!

Randi (FreestyleGal)

Johnny - you know I love you - but...

We have every right to rip something apart. I stopped complaining about radio not playing Freestyle years ago, and I couldn't care less if Philly radio never plays Freestyle again...

Why would these 2 ladies team up just for a remake? It was a waste of time (and certainly not worthy of all the hype). They should have focused their "creative energies" on an original new slammin' Freestyle track instead of a mediocre remake of a song that shouldn't have been remade!!!

why waste their time on a remake?

how many songs have been made into a remake? ALOT
how many are successful? ALOT

Many of you complain when i new song comes out, it sucks due to the fact it has an "old school" feel to it, therefore, making it not worthy of listening to. then, the same people kill another song for not having the "freestyle beat" that people are used to hearing. can you guys make up your mind? do you want new songs with old school sounds or new songs with fresh, new beats?

Rhoq, you know i love ya too...and OF COURSE everyone is welcome to post their opinions....after all, this is a public forum.

But first off, sure its a remake...but its not like they remade "Change on me" or "Boy i've been told".

It sometimes comes down to "What will it take to make some freestyle fans happy ???? " The only way to make some fans happy is to turn back the clock and make it 1988 again. The music isn't gonna sound like it did 12 years ago, so for those want the 'good ol old school sound' ya might as well pop in your cassettes from Hot 103 in 1989.

Once again, feel free to post any opinions you have....but when John Parker from Robbins, Tony Moran, Jeff Z from KTU, and many other record label/music industry people read this board and see freestyle fans themselves complaining...they're just gonna sit back and laugh at us and freestyle

IT WAS FROM TONY MORAN, THEN WHY THE HECK WERE THEY SAYING ADAM MARANO IN THE CHAT LAST NIGHT????? FIGURES!!!!!

anyway, i didnt hear it yet, so i cant comment...oh well!!!!

anyway like a million times before no one wants it to be 1988 again but comeon give us some quality music....u say robbins records reads this board...ok let me ask u this...ktu premiers a new george lamond song in 99...i remember i was pregnant and going to babies rus but i waited in the car to hear his new song...god forbid if it was the quality freestyle song lately...NO it was earn my love...come on now what the hell were they thinking???? yeah i love lamond and i am the biggest supporter on this board, but earn my love was a bit on the corny side...i remember being very dissapointed...its just things like that which makes freestyle fans get all mad when it comes to new freestyle and radio play!!!

😱 and johnny exactly cause we are "freestyle lovers" we dont want crap to be released!!! and we arent going to support something just cause it is released...that would be something like selling out!!!!! so please dont even try to make it sound like that!!!! and believe me for rhoq to say something like that there has to be reason behind it!!!!!!

and if those people do come in and read our complaints and laugh then maybe the problem is with them!!! cause these are true freestyle fans letting out thier frustrations and thoughts on freestyle music!!!! and if they are going to laugh at us then i guess they dont care about the fans!!!!!!

Hey Toni....don't blame KTU for playing "Earn my love"....

That was the first release off his album. That was the song Robbins pushed first.

i wasnt blaming ktu!!! i know it was robbins...and if he reads the board i hope he realizes his mistake!!!!! man i wish that guy would post so i can have it out with him for not letting george lamond excel to the fullest...doesnt he know next time he wants to realese a george lamond single he needs to consult with me first!!!! LMAO 😀

anyway it comes to the same thing that chris barbosa said one time in the chat during d's show...the reason why in my life didnt go as far is because they released baby i believe in u as a single instead of distant heart!!!!

another thing u say that its not 1988 and we should support new freestyle...but in the same respect why remake a song from that era????? applying the same comment!!!!

It is simply impossible to please everyone - and TRUE fans of SAFIRE & CYNTHIA would appreciate the tune even if it's a remake -

perhaps there's strategy behind the reason for a remake, perhaps to better the chances of airplay, to reintroduce these 2 stars to radio & new fans.

you'll never know unless u speak to the artist -

and then sometimes u have to listen to the tune several times to really enjoy it. i have it on tape and have played it several times, and it truly is a great remake, freestyle vibe all the way thru. Perhaps many of these posters dont recall what the original sounded like - 2 totally different songs.

Not everyone will like it, but like johnny said, when the bigwigs read all the negative post on this board, they are likely to give up and walk the opposite way.

But regardless of the few who didnt seem to like it, im SURE the many who did like it outshines the few who didnt.

and dont get to discourage, SAFIRE HAS NEW, ORIGINAL MUSIC ON HER GREATEST HITS CD!!!

see thats not right either...just cause u are a fan of safire and cynthias u have to like this song???? or just cause it is cythia and safire u have to liek this song...so i guess u liked safires version of i will survive????

and again i am not dissing the song!!!!!!!

exactly so if john parker is reading this i am letting him know his GOOF!!!!!

No toni, u dont have to like every tune they released -

But if the "fans" want freestyle music on the radio, then we need a little more positive feedback and support -

People are ripping the song apart simply because it's a remake - u know remakes can sometimes be the hardest thing to do, everyone expects it to be close to the original as possible.

no way are these 2 are trying to do a R&B version of the song, god forbid they did that, boy would this board be up in FLAMES!

they simply took a popular song and did THEIR OWN VERSION OF IT!! simple as that.

i love hearing safire's voice and i am very pleased that she is on radio again, and i know she is pleased with the work she has produce.

and like i said previously, you cant please everyone but if SAFIRE/CYNTHIA made a fan from this tune, then they did their job.

and guess what toni, i LOVED her version of I WILL SURVIVE, because after 15 years in the business she is still HERE! you can't say that about to many artists.

JOHNNY

WHAT EVER IS THE CASE, MAD PROPS TO YOU AND ALL THE SUPPORTERS. LIKE YOU SAID, HOW IS FREESTLE EVER GOING TO GROW IF NO ONE GIVE THE NEW SOUNDS A CHANCE. I DIDN'T HEAR IT BUT I THANK YOU FOR PLAYING IT AND SUPPORTING THE NEW SOUND.
