Alright. Last night I was thinking.. I heard some old house beats from around 1988 in my head. I had strict parents when I was younger and had to be in by 1am on the weekends. But, that wasn't all so bad. I used to turn on the radio and record the Hot 97 All Night House Party every weekend. Not only that, but I had the recording of Hot 103 switching to Hot 97 on tape - I had the debut of songs like, "Lovin' Fool" on tape. I had the Friday Night Underground Rave...

FIRE. Around 1994 I had a fire and lost all my cherished tapes. I don't think I could ever describe the mixes but they were so perfect. This was the day of Glen Frischer and Frankie Knuckles. I could never get these mixes again.

So, what I'm looking for here is a serious music freak who may have recordings on tape. If you do, I would be more than happy to purchase recordings of your cassettes. I'm actually looking for straight through recordings with the advertisements and everything.

Please reply here or to my personal email at: claziano@optonline.net

Thank you

I Did Early 90's Man.....Freestyle Came Out With More Songs During That Time That To Me Were Songs Filled With memories...And That Era Had More Songs That Just Had That Slammin Sound...You Can't Explain It. Maybe You Know Or Don't :I

Hey. Could you do me a favor and move this topic back into the Freestyle Trade section? I guess I shouldn't have posted the poll in here. If there is a way to remove it, let me know. But, this is really intended for Freestyle Trade. I'm looking for recordings of Hot 97/Hot 103 on cassette - not a particular song. If I need to repost this there, please let me know...

Sorry for the confusion...

Sal

dang! this poll got moved again? shouldn't it go in the freestyle talk section?

😕

I dont' think you can delete the poll.

as for me, I like the late 80's and early 90's the best, but I still like the new school that is out now!!!!

I gave away all my tapes to a long time friend in wich I have never ever heard from him again. Michael....wonder where you're at...

I guess he lost all of my tapes..I use to record all those mixes all night long too. I had over 100 tapes when I left Brooklyn back in 1988.

I was remembering those days too.

although i was only alive since the late 80s.. i still prefer that era based on what i've heard. awesome sounds from that time, even though i do like all 4 eras

Shouldn't it read Lisette Melendez? I have no idea who Lizette Milendez is. Anyway, While I give full credit to the early to mid 80's since that was the formative years, I'll go with the mid 80 (Safire / TKA) era. Pure magic and more actual solid hits than the other era's.

Well I think that freestyle's most famous and best peak was the mid/late 80's, I personally like the Tazmania/Metropolitan years.

i like everything before the late 90's... i like some of the new stuff.. not all of it... 🙂

I am more partial to the mid 80’s, best time for freestyle, all the radios were pumping it, it was being played in the parks, booming out of the cars and in the clubs (1018, Roseland, Studio 54). By far the Greatest time for Freestyle.
