ok and i sit here and read the posts of people who say they dont like this kind of freestyle or this kind of freestyle if they love freestyle so much like they say why dont they like all of it like i do i love all freestyle and to keep freestyle alive ya gotta get out there and get every freestyle cd that is out new or old and if ya dont well i guess your not a true freestyle fan
JoeD... is right about the freestyle loving we gotta keep it alive and bring it back to the radio stations expeccially Q102....... I remember when they used to play Freestyle on a daily basis and now they only play it at the 12 noon work out where they play alot of Stevie B, Lil Suzy, Collage, Rockell and others but its not as good as it used to be when they played it everyday and not just at the 12 noon work out! another song besides Lil' Suzy's Take me your arms that hey play sometimes around 11 pm is Rockell's In a dream..... Lets bring our music back expeccially back to Philly and Jersey!!!!😛
yes lets do the best we can to get freestyle back on the radio by getting every cd that is out and coming out etc and keep callin them and bug them like i do untill they hang up on you peace and keep freestyle alive i know its not dead i went to get food tonight and i stoped to see what cds were in and they had alot of freestyle from bad boy joe vol1 to diff mic mac comps i picked up the dma best of freestyle file vol 1 its a great cd
I'm definately into bringing freestyle back on the Philly airwaves, esp. on Q102, but it's not going to happen. I spent many hours e mailing Q102, calling them, basically doing everything I could to get dance music in general, mostly freestyle, back onto Q102. It's not Q102, it's Clear Channel. A lot of Q102 employees support dance and freestyle. Clear Channel does't think a dance format will work in Philly for some reason. 😕 It's working in New York, Orlando, Chicago, but it will not work in Philly to them. Why do they think that?? I don't know. If we wanna make a change, we gotta speak to the people upstairs, not the jocks or even the gm or pd. I'm all about getting freestyle on the philly airwaves, and we should really get a massive amount of people to influence the bimbos at Clear Channel.
Bingo Chris !! You do know your Q102 history! They used to have that little beeping watch that would tell you the time with the top of the hour station ID, followed by some great slogans over the years. Man, those were the days !
Unfortunately, though, I do NOT envision Q102 EVER being a dance station again. If anything we need to concentrate our efforts on ANOTHER station that is performing poorly in the market. What a shame Big City Radio (who owns Energy 92 in Chicago) doesn't have a station in Philly.
Remember though - 95.7, 96.5, and 104.5 all are basically mediocre stations WAITING to be flipped, yet again. Wouldn't it be nice to have a station like "Party 104" or something like that ? OR who knows what might happen with 103.9 ... they're ratings have NEVER jumped, they might as well just stop trying to compete with Power 99. The market is SATURATE with Rock, and it NEEDS to change!
Philly is DEFINITELY lacking in the dance station department. SOMEONE has got to wake up and FILL THAT VOID !
I don't envision Q102 being a dance station again either. I think the next station to go is 96.5. That could be our chance. 🙂 You would think Philly 103.9 would eventually flip formats, but they've been hanging in there. Also, Mix 95.7 just signed on the air, so they probably won't change formats for a little.
yea we need a dance station bad in philly i dont see why 103.9 cant change we already have one rap station we dont need anymore they can add a dance station i think its just they dont want 2
That's exactly it Joe. None of the big name radio corporations (Clear Channel, Radio One, Greater Media) want to start a dance station in Philly. They don't think it'll work.
