I hear you but sad to say, there is nothing out there that sounds like FREESTYLE.

Well, Janet Jackson of all singers, has a freestyle mix of her Someone to Call My Love. I got it on an import single, defently freestyle and I also have Again (totally 80s remix) freestyle as well. Both from import cd, i guess they dont like to release them domestically.

Madonna would look you up and down, stare dead in your face, probably grab her crotch and then spit in your face if you EVER called her music Freestyle.....str8 up!

Hell, she'll probably even ask you, "what the hell is Freestyle"?!
-She should be honored if we did. Freestyle is true music from true people.

WELL I LISTEN TO 94.9 AND BELIEVE ME THEY ARE ALWAYS METNTIONING FREESTYLE!!! DREENA IN THE MORNING WITH NOON TIME MIX BY JOSE MELENDEZ ARE MOSTLY ALL THE TIME FREESTYLE MIXED WITH HOUSE!! WHEN THEY DO PLAY FREESTYLE, I AM ALMOST ALL THE TIME ON THAT PHONE CALLING THEM AND GIVING THEM MAD PROPS FOR THE FREESTYLE!!!

EVEN ST JON IN THE AFTERNOON HE LOVES THE FREESTYLE TOOOO AND IS ALWAYS PLAYING IT!! LATE AT NITE MIXES HAVE FREESTYLE TOOOO.....94.9 GIVES MUCH RESPECT TO THE FREESTYLE COMMUNITY, BUT I WISH THAT THEY WOULD PLAY MORE OF ARTISTS THAT I KNOW OF THAT THEY HAVE NEVER PLAYED :smirk

94.9 mixes everything together and is known for playing FREESTYLE for one minute, but for most it is not popular.Alot of Pop Artists do use the same beats, its a given-Its common sense, even FREESTYLE legends know this, get with it,kenny -I know I'm right, dont be so hard headed and be open minded.I know die hard fans of FREESTYLE including myself, would not call it a traditional FREESTYLE song, but just another dance song that uses some of our beats.Alot of artists say that their music has some FREETYLE in it-JENNIFER LOPEZ,MAR ANTHONY are the only ones who really talk abut it in their music.LOL, to the artists who recognize the genre and respect it.

listen, you have to get over this "our beats" thing. our beats are dead. no one is using them. if they were being used so much, why the hell do you think our freestyle artists arent using them now if they are so popular?

come on, lets face reality.

wheres RHOQ when you really need him!

94.9 , HHHHHMMMMMMMMM I dont know wether to be pissed they play such lil freestyle, or happy that at least they play freestyle, better some then none. I wanna see w'sup with ksjs.

Yo Guido:

I never said these pop songs were freestyle. I just said that they sound more freestyle than anything that actual freestyle icons are putting out nowadays. The fact of the matter is that in both "Music" and "Toxic", the basic drum pattern is a 2 step/planet rock sort of thing. "Me Against the Music" also has a break in the drum beat pattern. Trust me, I HATE "half way" freestyle or "freestyle friendly" sort of music. I only like the straight hardcore stuff. My whole point was that pop artists are coming closer to doing freestyle than "freestyle legends" are. Let's keep it real now, if a freestyle legend like TKA or Coro or Judy Torres or Lisette Melendez was to put out "Music" or "Toxic", there would be all types of politicin' going on here with many industry people trying to convince the fans that not only is the song freestyle friendly, but even "hardcore freestyle" LOL. Remeber when K7 tried to convince us that Pink's "I'm Coming Out" was hardcore freestyle? Pink's song was exactly like some of Madonna and Britney's new stuff. Of course, it was not hardcore freestyle or any kind of freestyle. It did however have a big freestyle element in it and that's all I'm trying to say. Why should we glorify freestyle legends who are basically spitting in their fans' faces, if there is other music out their that's coming closer to being freestyle than anything a lot of the "legends" have come out with lately.

I am facing reality-and reality is that many POP artists have a FREESTYLE element to it.And FREESTYLEHEAD I agree with what you said,it's so true, their putting stuff out there that has more a FREESTYLE sound than the FREESTYLE artists themslves.

frankie, i dont see any freestyle elements in todays music.

remember, when this new dance sound was created, there was no such thing as freestyle. it was all DANCE.

only later did it start to branch off to other types of music (house, acid, dance, freestyle, synthpop, electronica, hip house)

the music that is blowing up now doesnt sound like freestyle to me at all. I was listening to some new dance music today and I hear more of other types of music and not freestyle.

I feel "Music" & "Toxic" are both definitely not freestyle.... although they can be considered mildly uptempo "freestylish".... anyway Brittney's "Toxic" is probably my favorite song out right now!!!!! :listen

Sietz!! LOL..funny you should say that...but I am not a Brittney fan and I cant help but like that song. I was listening to it on the radio yesterday and I was going to post about it, I think it is a great song, its fun and different from what you hear typically.

I Remember Madonnas song "Music" when it 1st came out, I said to myself, hey this a tad bit freestylish. I understand that they did bite some freestyle elements(the drum loop inpaticularly) But the music that they make have no "freestyle versions" its just dance music with a couple of things you might hear in a freestyle track.
