Dear Safire - You're a true pioneer, legend & queen of freestyle. I've spun many of your vinyls at dances & parties over the years & your songs are all over my mixed tapes!!!

I met you in the studio in the early 90's, I was the assistant engineer on one of your recording sessions. You were totally cool & down to earth. I remember you were talking about taking the subway to the session and people noticed you on the train & you said, "why can't people just be for real? If they see me & notice it's me, don't just sit there & stare, come up & say hi!!!" I'll always remember that specifically, I was in awe hearing that come from an idol.

wow!never in a millon years did i think i would see so many beautiful words. i had myself a great christmas today but after reading everyones post i belief the best gift i received was given to me by all of you. i had a great seventeen years and i owe it all to you guys. you guys gave me the best years of my life. i want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. i want to wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year.

Your voice will remain embedded in our minds & souls for the rest of our lives. Although you are "changing lanes," we will still continue to support all your decisions. You have become a symbol in freestyle and to this site. we want to grow with you even more after nearly the past 2 decades you devoted to us and freestyle.

I am also happy I was able to sustain a friendship with you after the ups and downs that were happening all over. I am also glad I was able to attend many of your shows all over the New York area (remember the county fair?...🙂)

You are indeed the most gifted and most beautiful woman in the world of freestyle ever. I know you will only blossom with your new endeavors. God Bless from me, Diane & Davian!!

I gotta tell you girl, when you were down with this thing back then you went all the way!!! It's so sad to hear that you're leaving freestyle. But I understand the circumstances and would like to thank you for giving us something to remember you by when you released "bringing back the groove". I would like to thank you personally for giving me your personalized autographed copy of your maxi single "dont break my heart". Yes, I still have it!

I hope everything goes well for you and your family and whatever you decide to do with your music. You have my utmost and continuing support all the way!! I'm sure you will go places with the beautiful and distinctive voice that you have. Please let the freestyle world know of your future releases.

You will always remain a legend in our hearts in this weird but awesome music called freestyle. Remember, this is your world and you are always welcome to come back to it. We will be more than happy to receive you again here.

Dang this was more depressing than I'd imagined... I wan't to say don't go but, you will, and whatever you do it will be great. I feel like Marching with the rest of CF and say, you can't retire, don't retire, I haven't see you enough times for you to retire, but, I'd be selfish to say those things.... I feel like this is a long goodbye, like somehow I knew you personally, through your music I have, but, even if it is just a short goodbye, You'll be back with your new material and whatever it is I and the rest of us will support you, It really isn't so bad after all as long as I get to hear you sing again, anything at all🙂. I wish you the very best, May God bless you in all you do. I don't know why but, I'm so attached to freestyle and at first when I heard you were retiring I said"Damn That's Messed up, how can she just not sing anymore but, My sis, said"she will, Just not Freestyle.. It still bothered me for a while but, I was glad to hear you would sing again. That's part of the problem, we never want to let our idol's go and let them evolve (no offense to anyone) I am one of those fans, but, we do learn eventually🙂.... All The Best Mama and whatever you drop next... CF will be first online🙂
