Yeah Alot Of Stuff Still Coming Out Has That Planet Rock Sample. Its Crazy!! Especially From Canada. I Like Some Canadian Freestyle, Dont Get Me Wrong But I Would Like Their Songs More If It Didnt Have That Played Out Sample. Atleast Hide It Or Filter It In The Background. But Its Still Used As The Main Drums. Thats Crazy!!!! Enough Is Enough!!!!! Leave That Sample Alone Already!! Lol

Seem like Planet Rock was the only Common denominator.
What is the new beat? I mean we can't have it be the Wild west right?
What's the new sound? Post up some samples in our VAULT forum.

Like I said , it shouldnt be in all songs, but to get rid of it is going too damn far. Peeps like that shit, thats why canada, and Europe still do it. That sample will be used as long as freestyle is still being made. that loop is freestyle heritage, deal with it. If you dont like it no ones forcing peeps to listen to it, or if your working on a current project, dont use it. but to try to 86 it is rediculouse. for evry 10 who hate it theres 10 who like it. it just depends on what kind of freestyle your in to. or you old school, are you new school, are you east coast , are you west coast, people like diffrent styles. not evry ones the same.

Planet rock is an intergral part of Canadian freestyle music; in addition to breaks, breakbeat, elctro, 2 step and the old school hearthrob sound with the violin riffs here and there. Same with the freestyle coming from Germany or Brazil and I luv it!

I am reading tis thread, and I had no idea how important that smple still is to some peeps. well I guess since we abused the hell out of it, it's thier turn now, and we shouldn't judge them for that. Thanks Young Megatron and Bassbump for pointing that out.

Frankie C don't kill me!..LOL

the only thing that comes close to the redundence and bordom of that beat is the threads bought up about it.over and over .the only time i personally like planet rock is when im listening to planet patrol otherwise man its been done to death and back!

Just out of curiosity. I know Freestyle hit the streets of Newyork in the early - mid 80's. Does anyone know when it was introduced to Canada and Europe and all these other countries that are still pumping that Planet Rock beat?

In Canada, It was always here but it resurfaced in force on the radio with Lil Suzy's take me in your arms in 1993-1994 (well after its US run) and local star Joée's "Nothing to you" and "Died in your arms" singles.

The "Planet Rock" beat was an integral part of the growth of freestyle in Canada, but it hit its saturation point a long time ago. That beat is now what's holding freestyle back.

"Planet Rock" must go. Time for some originality.
