The secret to a sucessful Freestyle future!
Freestyle needs to get to stop wishing to be part of the pop scene and dedicate English and Spanish material for Latino music stations that support Freestyle because it's a Latin genre.it needs to push their records in the dance market and to dance radio,they need to become underground anti pop like bachata,merengue and alternative rock were,not wanting to be part of Nsync's world makes a music popular look at what Nirvana did for the underground low record selling seattle rock scene,look at what Anthony Santos,Oro Solido and Marc Anthony did with Latin salsa,merengue and bachata when those genre were selling low,look at Regional Mexican and Christian music they aren't part of the mainstream and they have developed their huge artists like Selena,Alejandro Fernandez,Limite,Kumbia Kings in regional mexican and look at Christian music's Jaci Velasquez,Vico C,DC Talk,Newsboys and Yolanda Adams selling platinum in Christian music,Freestyle needs to find their own audience and find support in the Christian market like Christian freestyle,find support in the Latin market with Spanish freestyle and english freestyle designed for Latin radio,Freestyle also must find support in the dance music market like techno,euro and house have,freestyle needs to aim to get club djs and the billboard dance chart,freestle needs to try to go international in almost every record store worldwide on outside of America the only way to get any freestyle is almost always as an overpriced import!So only the true die hard fans get to hear the music!Freestyle should aim at airplay on La Mega and Latino fm,as an underground form on HOT 97 and if KTU wants to support it it's ok if not it's ok,look bahata,seatle rock,gangsta rap,merengue,salsa,jazz,reggae,Christian and gospel all sell well without getting any support from mainstream,sure there is a huge Latin explosion in America however years before Chayanne,Luis Miguel,Shakira,Marc Anthony,Ricky Martin and Selena were still going platinum in the Latin market right here in America before the US mainstream ever embraced them!That is when the mainstream embraces you is when you are overly popular and they know you can sell well that is what happened with Latin music,gangsta rap,altenative rock,Christian and gospel and even rock & roll was once an underground music that America's mainstream did not want to support,also Freestyle came from the underground and made noise with America's youth that is why Feestyle once was mainstream!Freestyle needs to target at the youth,old school artists need to try to attract both old and new school fans,freestyle needs to give young artists a chance,instead of compilations with a million no name freestyle artists,freestyle record labels need to try to always sign top acts like Spanish Fly,Voyce,Diamante,Tony Moran,Coro,the artists need to takke a record deal for less money and keeo their music fresh while performing at clubs,freestyle needs to make music videos even cheap ones and if they can afford expensive ones make them and get them on tv not just MTV but go after Univision,Telemundo,Telefutura,Galavision,HBO Latino,BET,VH1,VH1 germany,MTV asia,MTV euriope,HTV.LTV Latin music television and freestyle artists need to be willing to perform in a church one night,at a small club the next,at a huge stadium the next,at a festival the next,in a parking lot,tv studio or wherever they get a chance,let the egos go and do it for the music!Freestyle has to forget mainstream pop and survive like jazz,blues and even polka,heck i bet freestyle outsells polka but it's polka that gets a grammy nomination so frestyle needs to have it's award like merengue did until the Grammy's add a freestyle category!Freestyle has to become a Latino style,an Italian style,an Asian music,a white music,a black American music,Christian music,Canadien music,caribbean music but it needs different types of fresh new artists that give it energy from different backgrounds that keep it real but not too many of them they need to keep the competetion low for stars like George Lamond,Lil Suzy,Latin Nation,Diamantte,Johhny O,TKA and Safire and when these artists start selling alot of records then sign more acts,finally east coast freestyle has to support west coast,Spanish Fly has to become as popular in New York as they are in San Fransico,TKA has to be as big in California as they are in the north east then it can unite,thump,upstairs records,globe starr,timber,fever all need to join forces or they will go out of buisness.That is the only way Freestyle will suceed and overcome!GOD Bless,Omar 🙂
